Actually, I once almost got hit by a car because I crossed when the machine said it's safe to cross. The only time I could cross safely was when the machine said that it was not safe.

We are taught that we are not smart enough to think on our own, therefore we are not allowed to think on our own and we must trust the system to tell us what to think and when to think.
