I wanted to take AmTrak, but it doesn't really work with my schedule

2018-09-30 20:22:45 UTC

Then Uber from someplace way closer

2018-09-30 20:23:01 UTC

Oh Amtrak is real nice. Nicest way really

2018-09-30 20:23:08 UTC

I promised myself I would never take Greyhound again after experiencing AmTrak, but I might just have to do Greyhound since I'm on a tight schedule

2018-09-30 20:23:12 UTC

I suggest taking off work and taking the train

2018-09-30 20:23:25 UTC

I'm in school unfortunately

2018-09-30 20:23:37 UTC

Alright take off school

2018-09-30 20:23:46 UTC

I'm already skipping one day

2018-09-30 20:24:01 UTC

So what's another day?

2018-09-30 20:24:05 UTC

I would just take the greyhound

2018-09-30 20:24:15 UTC

Look at the Kavanaugh thing, they're delaying that for months

2018-09-30 20:24:37 UTC

Well, it's not so much that, it's that the AmTrack comes after midnight when I have class in the morning, and if I get there that late, I won't be able to take the bus from the AmTrak station to my rural area.

2018-09-30 20:24:51 UTC

I guess I could take AmTrak plus Uber

2018-09-30 20:25:06 UTC

>Not taking Bolt Bus

2018-09-30 20:25:07 UTC

Yeah Amtrak + Uber makes sense

2018-09-30 20:25:25 UTC

A lot of taxis will hang around train stations waiting for people to get off too

2018-09-30 20:25:37 UTC

Bolt Bus isn't available

2018-09-30 20:25:53 UTC

shit, uber costs $33 from the station to my house

2018-09-30 20:25:58 UTC

might be worth it though

2018-09-30 20:26:29 UTC

I could probably cut my cost significantly by using Lyft instead, and using the rideshare

2018-09-30 20:26:42 UTC

Yeah, I'm basically with you that I would never take a bus again I did that through grad school to save tens of dollars, what a waste of discomfort

2018-09-30 20:26:47 UTC

People go from Spokane to Cheney all the time, so there's a good chance they'll find someone to share the ride with

2018-09-30 20:27:15 UTC

AmTrak is like $10 more expensive than a bus and orders of magnitude more enjoyable. So worth it.

2018-09-30 20:29:04 UTC

Damn dude... Is there a server for NW forum itself? I am sure some huwytes would love to help you over there

2018-09-30 20:29:31 UTC

After all, this is all about networking and supporting and growing

2018-09-30 20:29:57 UTC

No server, but there's 3 IE guys in Spokane, all of which either can't make it or are undecided

2018-09-30 20:30:08 UTC

Oof

2018-09-30 20:30:46 UTC

This one is a bit harder than most forums since it's on the literal other side of the state

2018-09-30 20:30:54 UTC

Not regular Western Washington, but the peninsula

2018-09-30 20:31:12 UTC

Ah, crap.

2018-09-30 20:32:42 UTC

I guess this is my plan if none of the Spokane guys end up going:

2018-09-30 20:33:48 UTC

Bus to Spokane
AmTrak to Seattle
Carpool with one of the Seattle guys to the peninsula
Carpool back to Seattle
AmTrak to Spokane
Uber home

2018-09-30 20:34:15 UTC

Or I could suck it up and just deal with the Greyhound and not have to worry about the Uber. Probably the best idea, since I don't exactly have money to waste.

2018-09-30 20:34:36 UTC

but... greyhound...

2018-09-30 20:35:01 UTC

I've survived it in the past

2018-09-30 20:36:01 UTC

ok, gl on your trip

2018-09-30 20:36:58 UTC

Thanks. Hopefully one of the Spokane guys decides to go, but, if not, this is what I'm gonna have to do.

2018-09-30 20:44:00 UTC

Greyhound is truly an adventure in adversity/diversity. I went from OKC to Duluth once. Rough. 24 hours. (in a single car it takes 14 without breaks).

2018-09-30 20:44:18 UTC

They push their drivers too hard.

2018-09-30 20:44:23 UTC

It's a safety issue.

2018-09-30 20:45:44 UTC

The bus is bad, but the stations are where the wildlife come out.
Also, some less scrupulous public service and legal structures will put the mentally ill or homeless onto buses just to physically remove them, so to speak.
