Pretty much

2018-09-30 20:17:33 UTC

Stand on the side of the road where cars are going in the direction you want to go in

2018-09-30 20:17:45 UTC

ehhjj

2018-09-30 20:18:07 UTC

That sounds like it could be risky. Not in the sense that someone will kill me, but what if I just don't get anyone to stop and I end up wasting the money I paid for the event ticket?

2018-09-30 20:18:25 UTC

That is usually fine in a specialized locale where it is understood (the Appalachian trail f'rex) but just fucking around I-5 or I-90???

2018-09-30 20:18:52 UTC

@Jacob good point. You could take an Uber

2018-09-30 20:19:05 UTC

The cost would be insane

2018-09-30 20:19:12 UTC

I don't know if Ubers even go that far

2018-09-30 20:19:31 UTC

I took a 170$ Uber ride once

2018-09-30 20:19:35 UTC

Ubers go as far as the driver is willing to go but that would cost a ton

2018-09-30 20:20:00 UTC

Apparently the application stops you from going over 4 hours

2018-09-30 20:20:06 UTC

To get from my house to a friend's wedding in a remote location with no public transport around

2018-09-30 20:20:24 UTC

Interesting yeah I think that was like an hour and change

2018-09-30 20:21:20 UTC

lol getting across Washington would be hundreds

2018-09-30 20:21:26 UTC

if any driver is even willing to do that

2018-09-30 20:21:39 UTC

There have to be busses between cities though right?

2018-09-30 20:21:55 UTC

Like a Spokane -> Seattle bus or something?

2018-09-30 20:22:25 UTC

yes there's buses

2018-09-30 20:22:38 UTC

I wanted to take AmTrak, but it doesn't really work with my schedule

2018-09-30 20:22:45 UTC

Then Uber from someplace way closer

2018-09-30 20:23:01 UTC

Oh Amtrak is real nice. Nicest way really

2018-09-30 20:23:08 UTC

I promised myself I would never take Greyhound again after experiencing AmTrak, but I might just have to do Greyhound since I'm on a tight schedule

2018-09-30 20:23:12 UTC

I suggest taking off work and taking the train

2018-09-30 20:23:25 UTC

I'm in school unfortunately

2018-09-30 20:23:37 UTC

Alright take off school

2018-09-30 20:23:46 UTC

I'm already skipping one day

2018-09-30 20:24:01 UTC

So what's another day?

2018-09-30 20:24:05 UTC

I would just take the greyhound

2018-09-30 20:24:15 UTC

Look at the Kavanaugh thing, they're delaying that for months

2018-09-30 20:24:37 UTC

Well, it's not so much that, it's that the AmTrack comes after midnight when I have class in the morning, and if I get there that late, I won't be able to take the bus from the AmTrak station to my rural area.

2018-09-30 20:24:51 UTC

I guess I could take AmTrak plus Uber

2018-09-30 20:25:06 UTC

>Not taking Bolt Bus

2018-09-30 20:25:07 UTC

Yeah Amtrak + Uber makes sense

2018-09-30 20:25:25 UTC

A lot of taxis will hang around train stations waiting for people to get off too

2018-09-30 20:25:37 UTC

Bolt Bus isn't available

2018-09-30 20:25:53 UTC

shit, uber costs $33 from the station to my house

2018-09-30 20:25:58 UTC

might be worth it though

2018-09-30 20:26:29 UTC

I could probably cut my cost significantly by using Lyft instead, and using the rideshare

2018-09-30 20:26:42 UTC

Yeah, I'm basically with you that I would never take a bus again I did that through grad school to save tens of dollars, what a waste of discomfort

2018-09-30 20:26:47 UTC

People go from Spokane to Cheney all the time, so there's a good chance they'll find someone to share the ride with

2018-09-30 20:27:15 UTC

AmTrak is like $10 more expensive than a bus and orders of magnitude more enjoyable. So worth it.
