```"Tell me, Mr. Reed, do you know what freedom is?" President MacArthur asked.
"Y-yes, I do," stammered a shackled John "Jack" Reed, former Chairman of the recently capitulated Combined Syndicates of America.
"It's living a life with tyrants like you in the ground!"
"Give him more," the President of the United States ordered and no more than two seconds of silence was interrupted by Reed's screams as electricity coursed throughout his body. After ten seconds of this MacArthur held up his hand as a gesture to the soldier operating the switch that would soon bring Reed to his death.
"No, Mr. Reed, it is not that idealistic dribble that you and your followers so foolishly believed. No, I'm afraid, freedom is what we have when we rid ourselves of you and your lot." Reed muffled a grunt as a soldier strapped a cloth gag into his mouth from behind him. "Those who seek to undo all of the progress our society has accomplished to bring about the 'breaking of chains' that your French comrades babble about. These chains that your kind speak of are not holding us back..."
MacArthur nodded to the soldier manning the switch controlling the electricity board. He thrust it down with a patriotic fervor.
"They're protecting us." MacArthur concluded as Reed's screams and smoke started to fill the room while he walked away with his back turned. This was a pleasant experience, but this was behind him now. MacArthur was now ready to rebuild.
