```Looking at a battle report for a TD platoon (3/A/645th TDB), I noted an engagement showing one Pz IV and one Pz III definitely killed, one Pz III possible, at 1,100 yards. OK, fair enough. Then: "Ammunition expended: 10 rounds APC, 50 rounds HE. See remarks"
Turned out they were hiding behind buildings. The TDs used HE to level the buildings first, then shot up the tanks once their cover had been removed.
There is a certain simplicity to problem-solving which can result from having US Army style logistics.```
Reminds me of the story of the US army making it's way through western Germany. A unit of Germans were held up in a building and Shermans HE wouldn't cut it. So they called in an SPG unit and under cover of darkness, snuck one of the guns to within a few hundred yards in direct firing range and unloaded on the building. The Germans surrendered basically immediately.
@Alan I think I was the catalyst that led to gale stepped enacting that as a stopgap
2019-04-17 09:50:39 UTC
how large was the unit of germans? @Legiondude
2019-04-17 12:22:36 UTC
Can't find the story now. Will ask around
2019-04-17 12:43:28 UTC
2019-04-18 09:38:26 UTC
I'm sure as the Notre dame is on the UNESCO world heritage site list there is law's that state tell to what you are allowed to do to a building of such nature and irr the laws are inflexible and state it need to be restored as close as possible to the original building
2019-04-18 09:52:13 UTC
@Nordhand Yeah, but UNESCO is run by globalist shills
2019-04-18 09:55:42 UTC
that is true, still they have to find away around the local laws they did put on them self. and that is going to run the system as I do know a lot of people that want that system gone as it stops them from developing projects because a famous person in the 1800 did shit in a outhouse on their property
Thank you, @Jabba! Very cool!
2019-04-20 08:06:21 UTC
@Nordhand Also people tend to forget the Catholic Church still owns and operates out of it. It was still having sunday mass, and was the seat of the French Archbishop. So....Prolly not.
2019-04-20 08:15:15 UTC
Did see that one of the last persons to leave Notre dame under the fire was a priest that was holding a sermon that day.
2019-04-20 15:21:56 UTC
@Goblin_Slayer_Floki if I remember recently, the French government owns the building, but the Archdiocese has a perpetual lease to run and maintain the site.
2019-04-20 15:32:20 UTC
During the French revolution, the cathedral became a property of the people. After the French Revolution Napoleon put the Cathedral under the control of the state for his coronation, thus becoming the state´s property
2019-04-20 15:32:37 UTC
and it has remained effectively so since then
