Doesn't even matter if it's a sci-fi film where the laser blast gets deflected
There's plenty to complain about in the latest Star Wars film, but something that personally irritated me was how the smuggler guy with the tiniest little blaster pistol, like the equivalent of a derringer, is able to one-shot an armoured stormtrooper through the breast plate
I would've even accepted him being knocked down but not dead
Flat earthers dude....
Flat earthers...
Anyway, back to the movie thing
I haven't seen the last star wars, I'm still thinking if I should watch or not
Since I'm not a fan of the franchise
I won't bother that much if i don't watch
I finally watched it
a few weeks back
So, what you thought of it?
I hope you're ready for this
alright
*here we go*
Lol
Some parts of it were good.
Some parts of it were not good.
now I'm just going to keep typing here so it looks like I'm typing something massive even though I'm not but it reinforces this lame joke that I've set up for myself and now I have to go through with it, even though it'd make more sense for me to write something about the movie here if I'm going to bother writing something here at all but whatever I think this is enough crap in order to get the joke across I mean I could've just asdfasdfasdfasdf for the whole thing that would've been easier but woop-de-fucking-do
....
I thought a review of the movie were coming
*m i s s i o n a c c o m p l i s h e d*
Some parts I was willing to suspend disbelief for, 'because Star Wars'
Some parts I still facepalmed at
I think they overdid the 'big evil Empire v tiny rebels' narrative by giving the Empire a ship about ten times larger than the Super Star Destroyer and reducing the rebels to basically just one Cruiser and a Frigrate
I thought they improved Rey's character by making her less Mary Sue-ey
And the callback to Luke telling her she 'knows nothing' because she thinks the force is about 'moving rocks', where near the end of the film she literally has to move rocks to help people, that was nice
I thought Kylo's character was improved, and I liked the dynamic they established between Kylo and Rey
A lot of people were upset about how the handled Luke. I can understand why, but I also thought it was interesting to see his character being portrayed in such a 'broken' fashion
The Yoda bit was definitely a bit "wtf"-y
I just don't think it's as terrible as some people are now proclaiming it to be
Too much spoilers dude
no spoilers there my dude
So, it's a decent movie?
It's a reverse Phantom Menace in my mind
well, not to say that it's an amazing movie
Just that when Phantom Menace came out
Everyone was like YEAH NEW STAR WARS THIS FUKKIN ***ROXXX***
And then after a bit, people were like "heyyyyyyy wait a minute.."
Hmmm
Now because of this asinine politicization of *e v e r y t h i n g*
I guess I will watch it later today
I'm off to bed now
