Honestly

2018-04-01 06:01:17 UTC

That's why I avoided it

2018-04-01 06:01:35 UTC

And because every second AB player on the WT forum had a fucking custom signature banner related to the show

2018-04-01 06:02:29 UTC

I did watch an anime (or at least a few episodes) about some French witch during the 100 years war

2018-04-01 06:02:37 UTC

And was surprised at the attention to detail in that too

2018-04-01 06:02:45 UTC

I mean, yeah, giant magical dragons n' shit

2018-04-01 06:03:01 UTC

But there was also an interesting attempt at making the actual human v human combat.. 'realistic'

2018-04-01 06:03:50 UTC

Same deal with the Girls und Panzer thing

2018-04-01 06:04:13 UTC

Even when it's unrealistic, the creators seem to give a nod to the audience of "yes, we know" by having the characters remark about the scenario playing out

Good luck seeing that in a film; usually you just see people spinning around with swords killing people clad in full armour with one blow

2018-04-01 06:09:16 UTC

Yup

2018-04-01 06:09:26 UTC

Not so many movies pay attention to details

2018-04-01 06:09:41 UTC

Any time I see a film where armour works

2018-04-01 06:09:43 UTC

I'm like 'yay'

2018-04-01 06:09:55 UTC

Doesn't even matter if it's a sci-fi film where the laser blast gets deflected

2018-04-01 06:11:25 UTC

There's plenty to complain about in the latest Star Wars film, but something that personally irritated me was how the smuggler guy with the tiniest little blaster pistol, like the equivalent of a derringer, is able to one-shot an armoured stormtrooper through the breast plate

2018-04-01 06:11:41 UTC

I would've even accepted him being knocked down but not dead

2018-04-01 06:20:03 UTC

Flat earthers dude....

2018-04-01 06:20:10 UTC

Flat earthers...

2018-04-01 06:20:20 UTC

Anyway, back to the movie thing

2018-04-01 06:20:54 UTC

I haven't seen the last star wars, I'm still thinking if I should watch or not

2018-04-01 06:21:08 UTC

Since I'm not a fan of the franchise

2018-04-01 06:21:28 UTC

I won't bother that much if i don't watch

2018-04-01 06:23:26 UTC

I finally watched it

2018-04-01 06:23:31 UTC

a few weeks back

2018-04-01 06:23:55 UTC

So, what you thought of it?

2018-04-01 06:24:14 UTC

I hope you're ready for this

2018-04-01 06:24:17 UTC

alright

2018-04-01 06:24:23 UTC

*here we go*

2018-04-01 06:24:32 UTC

Lol

2018-04-01 06:26:12 UTC

Some parts of it were good.
Some parts of it were not good.

now I'm just going to keep typing here so it looks like I'm typing something massive even though I'm not but it reinforces this lame joke that I've set up for myself and now I have to go through with it, even though it'd make more sense for me to write something about the movie here if I'm going to bother writing something here at all but whatever I think this is enough crap in order to get the joke across I mean I could've just asdfasdfasdfasdf for the whole thing that would've been easier but woop-de-fucking-do

2018-04-01 06:27:08 UTC

....

2018-04-01 06:27:42 UTC

I thought a review of the movie were coming

2018-04-01 06:27:48 UTC

Oh God

2018-04-01 06:27:58 UTC

*m i s s i o n a c c o m p l i s h e d*

2018-04-01 06:28:32 UTC

Some parts I was willing to suspend disbelief for, 'because Star Wars'

Some parts I still facepalmed at

I think they overdid the 'big evil Empire v tiny rebels' narrative by giving the Empire a ship about ten times larger than the Super Star Destroyer and reducing the rebels to basically just one Cruiser and a Frigrate

2018-04-01 06:28:55 UTC

I thought they improved Rey's character by making her less Mary Sue-ey

2018-04-01 06:29:28 UTC

And the callback to Luke telling her she 'knows nothing' because she thinks the force is about 'moving rocks', where near the end of the film she literally has to move rocks to help people, that was nice

2018-04-01 06:30:06 UTC

I thought Kylo's character was improved, and I liked the dynamic they established between Kylo and Rey
