Make ridiculous accusations, but use your political power to create investigations that will be long-winded and most likely won't go anywhere - in fact the point that they are long-winded is the point, as whilst th investigation is ongoing, you get to cast a shadow over whomever is being investigated. Therefore, the longer the 'investigation', the better
That being said perhaps the Dems should be heckled for using old material

The point of the accusations right now are primarily to delay Kavanaugh hearings until after the mid terms because they're relying on a blue wave and then Kav won't get onto the SC. Otherwise there's nothing they could do to stop it. When you look at articles from lefty journos regarding the new accusation, they characterize the Republicans as trying to rush the nomination, even though a far more fair characterization would be that they are trying to maintain a timely nomination in light of these delays.
