I wouldn't hold soviet testaments up there to be quite honest with you. The motherfuckers would come up with all sorts of shit just to coerce people into the fold. Take at look at the kind of shit they tried to force into Hartmann. As for testimonies, they found it to be inconsistent number one, and quite frankly, if you're a group that has been 2nd grade citizens (which I obviously don't deny) if not worse, I wouldn't be surprised if they exaggerated to make it worse, which where the inconsistencies come from in part. And yeah the western treatment of PoW's was pretty good.
