Nah, it's about representing an area. It favors "focused" voting.

Some parties in Spain get quite some votes nationwide but it's so spread out they end up with no seats.

Meanwhile, "region-locked" parties get a bunch of seats with less votes because they actually represent their area.

Nah, that's not how politics work. You gotta represent YOUR AREA and look for the best for YOUR AREA.

Spain has 50 circumscriptions (provinces) and 2 independent cities (the 2 in Northern Africa). If Spain had a USA-like system, PSOE would win in FORTY THREE of them. 😭
