I got distracted

2021-01-21 02:37:37 UTC

that's partially why

2021-01-21 02:37:40 UTC

im talkin in gen 1

2021-01-21 02:37:40 UTC

Lol

2021-01-21 02:40:00 UTC

Okay how should I end this

2021-01-21 03:02:14 UTC

I'm thinking of having a small skirmish between the two main characters

2021-01-21 03:02:22 UTC

First battle they see each other

2021-01-21 03:03:15 UTC

So from the first main point of view

2021-01-21 03:03:22 UTC

I was going to have the start of the small skirmish

2021-01-21 03:03:39 UTC

But than back up to when my other character is before the battle

2021-01-21 04:41:43 UTC

plot pitch from an idea I had years ago:
An elite group of circus clowns that go around in a giant tent combating demons with the power of laughter

2021-01-21 04:42:42 UTC

They're comprised of special people gifted with the ability to see demonic entities and the only way to make them go away is by making people laugh. Circuses were formed to make the demons stop picking on people and making them miserable.

2021-01-21 04:43:42 UTC

However, now that it's the modern day, everyone is scared of clowns. While YouTube and social media certainly gives people laughs, the clowns find themselves in a tough spot as they try and adjust their craft for modern crowds who reject their antics and write them off as creepy

2021-01-21 04:44:24 UTC

they travel around in a magical train that can go places without tracks and the entire tent folds up in one night

2021-01-21 04:44:35 UTC

I've heard worse.

2021-01-21 04:45:05 UTC

it's weird and it makes zero sense but I originally thought it might look good in an anime style

2021-01-21 04:45:39 UTC

I have a framework from a few years ago that would make a good book, but a great TV series.

2021-01-21 04:45:48 UTC

Execution is all that matters when it comes to an idea.

2021-01-21 04:46:01 UTC

Great execution can make any bizarre idea look incredible and bad execution can make any incredible idea look dumb.

2021-01-21 04:46:31 UTC

oh?

2021-01-21 04:47:06 UTC

Nighthunter Universe:

Monsters are real. Every creeping, flapping, malformed creature that has ever haunted humanity throughout all time exists. The government knows, and has a special “Men In Black” type division that hunts them down and destroys them.
Our Hero comes from a long line of famous monster hunters. He has taken up the mantle as the last of his line, and is widely known for his vicious, ruthless destruction of monsters. He works alone, and when he *does* have a partner, they don’t last long.

Except it’s all a lie. In reality, Hero has found that the majority of “monsters” are mostly harmless, wanting to live in peace and just be left alone. His family has been guardians of sheltered small towns and village of these creatures for centuries, acting as a shield from outsiders who would wipe them out. Sure, the hunters kill monsters, but only those who are so vile and twisted that the regular monsters fear them. The world is kept safe, good monsters live quiet lives, and everyone is happy.

2021-01-21 04:47:09 UTC

Execution would be Greatest Showman mixed with the spectacle of Moulin Rouge

2021-01-21 04:47:14 UTC

animated to save on costs

2021-01-21 04:47:27 UTC

Then Our Hero is assigned a partner he can’t shake. Unlike the bungling idiots he fends off, she’s the real thing, a True Believer that thinks the only good monster is a *dead* one.

Somehow he has to keep her from killing off innocent monsters, protect his secret town and get harmless ones to safety there, and possibly, just possibly, convince her that not all monsters are really the loathsome creatures everyone thinks they are.

Somehow.

2021-01-21 04:48:07 UTC

that took a complete 180 and I like it

2021-01-21 04:48:23 UTC

I started the first part of it when I had the idea, but life intervened, and I never picked it back up.

2021-01-21 04:48:33 UTC

Thanks.

2021-01-21 04:48:38 UTC

I was like "this is men in black" and then I was like "oh crap-"

2021-01-21 04:49:28 UTC

it would make a really good tv series tbh

2021-01-21 04:49:38 UTC

Yep. Go for it. LOL

2021-01-21 04:50:05 UTC

I have more worlds in my slush piles than I could ever write.

2021-01-21 04:50:34 UTC

I feel that

2021-01-21 04:50:42 UTC

I just get vague concepts and don't know how to create stories in them

2021-01-21 04:51:29 UTC

I get full concepts, but I'm invested in my original worlds, and honestly, the Time Corps universe will never be fully written by me.

2021-01-21 04:51:57 UTC

Let alone all the other fun things I've come up with. I just won't live long enough.

2021-01-21 04:51:57 UTC

for instance, tonight I thought up a scene where vague teenage clown boy takes the newcomer main character clown girl out away from the rest of the circus and has her close here eyes. They run up a grassy hill and look over the city. All done before, until he starts pulling magic. It would happen at the end of act one or somewhere in act two, right before something bad happens

2021-01-21 04:52:22 UTC

I don't plan on giving them full facepaint so it's not quite as strange as it sounds

2021-01-21 04:52:33 UTC

that would be saved for a climactic battle

2021-01-21 04:52:38 UTC

as dumb as that sounds

2021-01-21 04:53:05 UTC

What if the face paint is magic, protection from demons?

2021-01-21 04:53:16 UTC

I'm thinking he pulls one of those weird "half way through the musical musical sequence" sequences where something is basically just visual fodder for ten minutes
