I wanted to hear the analysis on Abraham
I wanted to hear what u said tho
Ive read it
We should have a discussion sometime & compare *notes* @Queen Of Conspiracy
Are u familiar with where the book came from?
Probably composed between about 70-150 AD from earlier writings and tradition possibly kept from the time of Abraham , it is of Jewish origin and is usually considered to be part of the Apocalyptic literature
Not what I meant
Are u familiar with Joseph Smith?
Mormon
How about his connection to the *Book Of Abraham?*
Was he alive in 70AD?
?
Joseph Smith??
😆
lol
@Queen Of Conspiracy
Joseph Smith is relevant becuz Joseph Smith invented the claims that some *Egyptian* writings *(which are dated later than Abraham's time, & were not identified as being written by Abraham mind u)* are the *Book of Abraham;* it's a hypothesis that was never accepted outside the Mormon church *(& a few small spheres of occult influencers),* & it's been historically-linguistically debunked
*(I'm well adversed in history & language)*
What? I just told u what he has to do with it
He invented the notion
*(about the identity if the book)*
He's mis-identifying the writings
Mischaracterizing the writings per his Mormon revisions
Its documented
The Mormons purchased those writings
& popularized the *theory*
How are u not following this?
Joseph Smith misidentified the writings as biblical
It's simple
@Deleted User I just can't talk becuz I'm in Starbucks
I don't wanna' discuss this aloud
Oh ok
Looking into the mic situation I think I might have moved you
No, it's not irrelevant...
1) The writings don't match Abraham's time
2) The writings weren't confirmed as being a part of the biblical body of works
3) The Mormons created the notion that some *Egyptian* writings which were found were a biblical writings *(however that's untrue)*
I need more coffee
The Apocalypse of Abraham is a pseudepigraphic work (a text whose claimed authorship is uncertain) based on the Old Testament. Probably composed between about 70-150 AD from earlier writings and tradition possibly kept from the time of Abraham , it is of Jewish origin and is usually considered to be part of the Apocalyptic literature .
Those works aren't officially recognized as being akin to the biblical narrative, but rather, revisionists have stitched the misconception to the Bible's reputation
