There are also biological implications, as JF is correct to state.
Yeah you are really playing with fire there.
Leave it to the Chinese to not care at all about that.
@Bjorn - MD who are you talking about?
The final boss of feminism
Even when I was a reddit tier atheist in college, I found the concept of playing God in regards to genetic manipulation to be really gross and disconcerting.
@Sam Anderson lol I'm still confused
Perhaps this provoked the cow posting
@Jacob This is the final boss of feminism
Naw, I posted that cow picture because he was mentioned on the news
Subscoiusly tho

On the topic of designer babies, I’m very torn on that topic. On one hand I can see the benefit of it, if it was used to eradicate genetic abnormalities. On the other hand, I’m also against the whole “playing God” scenario and have little faith that the system wouldn’t be abused
Our side needs to start making outright propaganda. Kinda like Now This style videos. Don't falsify stuff, just use scary music, scary pictures, strong words, etc. Make immigration sound *way* worse than it actually (and it's already pretty bad).
This is a good example

I'm all for it if it means you can ensure you children won't be predisposed to hereditary diseases
dude this tbh ^
like are we really gonna give kids Down Syndrome because it would be "playing God" not to?
If it's possible, there's no reason a child should have hereditary diabetes or anything else if we have the power to stop it
I'd go so far as to say it's Immoral *not* to do something about it if we are able
Medicine is also playing God lmao
^
Jared Taylor has talked about this topic in length
I respect Nature too much to tangle with her like that.
Sadly people who view us as competitors don’t
I think unrestricted access to technology like this will have dire consequences for the human race.
There’s a huge difference between medicine and gene editing
This is pretty different than a vaccine, it's re-writing dna, effectively.
Is it immoral to have a child in the first place if the child may inherit a genetic disease?
if there's a strong chance
I mean if we have the capability to ensure the kids won't inherit it it's literally a non issue
It’s not the degree to which we’ll be playing God it’s that humans will be replaced, and I know how much my fellow Evropeans don’t wanna be replaced
If we can make our people even stronger we should. I prefer to use BAPs idea of encouraging the best to reproduce, but in all honesty we should either splice out the worse genetic diseases, it’s way nicer than the spartan alternative
I'm interested where playing God starts and where it ends
Big think emoji
If we can splice it out its practically a moral imperative to do so imo
The gods would want us to use our intellect. Historically the strong and smart have dominated so gene editing is perfectly within the natural order.
There is a difference between not having Downs Syndrome and gene editing for stronger muscles or high IQ.
There are absolutely great arguments for crispr, I won't deny. I even agree with some of it - however it's the implications a bit further on that worries me.
