I think the long term strategy holders are like young adults in the US now who think Social Security will be there for them when they're of age

2018-12-02 20:51:02 UTC

That's why its grabbed my attention

2018-12-02 20:51:25 UTC

@celticflame Yeah, the police and ff solidarity may embolden other EU nations, too

2018-12-02 20:51:34 UTC

Exactly

2018-12-02 20:51:47 UTC

iinm, Belgium is having some yellow vest protests now, too?

2018-12-02 20:52:55 UTC

When you have the whole civilian populations joining together.... looks like its spreading into other countries, not sure of which ones exactly. I just started seeing some of this so...

2018-12-02 20:53:48 UTC

And then depending on the demands and concessions made and given, it'll rile up others in the nation (antifa, invaders, Muslims)

2018-12-02 20:53:48 UTC

Had a late night,just getting coffee,lol😂😋

2018-12-02 20:54:05 UTC

Yes that too

2018-12-02 20:54:55 UTC

Lot's of variables, could go anywhere. The possibilities are exciting but that 66% of France that voted for Macron points to the French putting themselves in the same stupid position again

2018-12-02 20:55:10 UTC

I hope not

2018-12-02 20:55:29 UTC

I think this just goes to show if you want to get thousands of people at a moments notice to massively rise up against their system, appeal to their economic security.

2018-12-02 20:55:52 UTC

Variables are really endless, that's quite true @Kingfish

2018-12-02 20:56:09 UTC

Gonna go have my coffee ttyl😉

2018-12-02 20:58:02 UTC

Think I'm outa the loop

2018-12-02 20:58:11 UTC

What's happening with France?

2018-12-02 20:58:22 UTC

Did they find their spine or something?

2018-12-02 20:59:24 UTC

lol, kind of.

2018-12-02 20:59:35 UTC

I think the variables are quite simply really, bread, circus, morals.

2018-12-02 21:00:55 UTC

They voted for a guy their televisions, newspapers, magazines, and radio hosts all colluded together telling everyone to vote for, and now they're angry about it and protesting who they voted for. It's typical French reaction to everything they do: surrender peacefully to being dominated, then getmadbro @bspon002

2018-12-02 21:01:21 UTC

<:really:453005408064241674>

2018-12-02 21:03:07 UTC

The French are, at their core, romanticists and that makes them extremely susceptible to voting with their feelings rather than their minds.

2018-12-02 21:03:33 UTC

Unless the French show some sort of ideological change in this protest, things will go right back to the same 'ol same 'ol. I think most of us are more excited that a Euro is actually doing something other than sticking up for Muslims after terror attacks

2018-12-02 21:03:48 UTC

And hoping (praying) this signals some kind of change

2018-12-02 21:04:10 UTC

Most heads are in the clouds right now at the thought of it

2018-12-02 21:04:11 UTC

@bspon002 It started with general protests and outrage over rises in fuel taxes, however, it has slowly become a larger anti Macron sentiment, and is starting to spill into other countries in much smaller numbers as a general anti elite demonstration

2018-12-02 21:04:12 UTC

@Flint Right. They have to want it enough. History has not been kind to them in this regard (they usually end up needing rescuing)

2018-12-02 21:04:30 UTC

yeah but he asked why they're rioting not the philosophical French mentality

2018-12-02 21:04:45 UTC

Gas tax

2018-12-02 21:04:50 UTC

That was the straw

2018-12-02 21:05:23 UTC

But if that's all it remains, then it will be settled and business will be normal again

2018-12-02 21:05:43 UTC

Macron will probably placate them with a referendum for free gas for half a year or something, so long as they allow more refugees. French people will concede.

2018-12-02 21:05:49 UTC

https://youtu.be/uNs3rv40z-I alao getting caught up,just started to watch this, may help some too..

2018-12-02 21:06:42 UTC

Well yeah, they're rioting over taxes, if they're given what they want they will probably stop rioting eventually.

2018-12-02 21:06:44 UTC

makes sense to me

2018-12-02 21:07:43 UTC

Someone tell Frenchie that migrants decrease wages..

2018-12-02 21:08:00 UTC

It's not the whole story, tho. They're in the situation they're in because of everything leading up to _WHY_ those gas taxes were put into place. Simply being mad about the EFFECT, rather than the CAUSE, and conceding when the simple EFFECT is lessened, doesn't solve their problem. So no...it shouldn't make sense if/when they crawl back into their living rooms to watch television and stop rioting over having the tax decreased or lessened.

2018-12-02 21:08:31 UTC

Yeah, it was only the last straw

2018-12-02 21:09:04 UTC

That's great but economics is going to be what gets these people out and moving

2018-12-02 21:09:14 UTC

Yep

2018-12-02 21:10:10 UTC

I hope they can get a grasp of their own narrative before the media co's mold it
