He's extremely lethargic. Count how many times he looks for a place to sit down in the films. If the Avengers brought in a television and a bowl of chili, a battle would not have been necessary.

Even when he gets hit, the looks on his face aren't anger. They're annoyance. He looks like he'd rather be doing something else.
