Understood.

2020-06-23 05:06:39 UTC

Do republicans have a fix for homelessness? Because that is one thing I don't know how to argue about with a dem, besides the fact they can just go get a job. Because dems fix is socialisms.

2020-06-23 05:09:09 UTC

I'd say the best solution is some sort of social safety net, but to an extent. Too many people abuse the system, which is meant to simply help them get back on their feet.

2020-06-23 05:09:39 UTC

That sounds interesting.

2020-06-23 05:10:36 UTC

You need to understand the root cause for their homelessness. If it is drug problems, mental health problems, lack of training, or honestly lazynees and desire to leach off the government.

2020-06-23 05:11:16 UTC

Dems want way too much govt interference. Govt is meant to ensure the welfare of the People, but it should be kept extremely limited.

2020-06-23 05:11:33 UTC

That's what I mean laziness you just need to get a job. But the other reason I don't know so much about.

2020-06-23 05:11:40 UTC

Ultimately, the People need to become self-dependent.

2020-06-23 05:12:44 UTC

Government at the local level will also best know how to help people in it's community because it is part of the community rather then the federal that trys to put out a plan that works for all 50 states with rural and urban areas.

2020-06-23 05:13:13 UTC

Drugs lead people to bad choices, which ultimately leads to homelessness. Inhibitions are gone while on drugs. Same with mental health issues. Education would certainly help, but you lead a horse to water even if they don't drink. In other words, people in general have a tendency to be stubborn/stupid.

2020-06-23 05:13:56 UTC

Definitely. Social safety nets that are more localized.

2020-06-23 05:14:22 UTC

They know their communities better than some politician hundreds or thousands of miles away.

2020-06-23 05:15:18 UTC

Republicans in general should be advocates for smaller federal government intervention. I'm pretty sure that's part of their platform...or it was when I went through Civics..

2020-06-23 05:22:37 UTC

☝️

2020-06-23 06:40:27 UTC

Yall ever just walk next to a cliff and think "yeah i could totally just yeet myself off of here rn"

2020-06-23 06:42:09 UTC

I have entertained the thought but generally I rewind and think about how much I like walking on my two feet

2020-06-23 06:44:03 UTC

Exactly

2020-06-23 06:44:16 UTC

See i have randomly dark thoughts

2020-06-23 06:44:27 UTC

And sometimes they freak me out lmao

2020-06-23 06:46:45 UTC

lol

2020-06-23 06:48:09 UTC

You can always stay awake for 3 days without sleep when you feel alone, because on the third day you won't be alone anymore

2020-06-23 15:55:00 UTC

@r3valutions Its a really nuanced issue, and the problem anyone will have regardless of their political approach, is trying to use a blanket policy to address a complex problem. Some homeless people made a simple mistake and just need some help getting on their feet again, while others will just abuse any help given and actively choose to be in the position they're in. I think Dale and others are right in that the best solution is to empower the municipal govts to address the homelessness problems in their city, as each situation can be different.

What I do know doesnt work (I see it here in Canada), is treating it like EI/Welfare in that you just hand out money/resources without much in the way of monitoring how its used. Leaves too much room for abuse. Personally I'd like to see where each individual that requires help is paired with a case worker of sorts that helps them find work and housing, and if the individual repeatedly abuses the system, at some point in time they're either cut off or admitted to some form of institution depending on their situation and needs.

2020-06-23 17:02:12 UTC

I think the solution to homelessness is to get those people some jobs, yes. Anything to get them an income and stuff to do will get them off the streets maybe

2020-06-23 17:30:43 UTC

Are y’all talking about how to solve the homeless issue in America?

2020-06-23 17:31:48 UTC

Just buy a house

2020-06-23 17:31:52 UTC

Said the tiktok thot

2020-06-23 17:33:21 UTC

My take on this issue is that you really can’t fix it. There will always be poor and homeless. There will always be people who just refuse to work. I can see if we can lower the amount of homeless people. That is something we can do but I don’t think we will ever get to the point where there are no homeless.

2020-06-23 17:49:04 UTC

where does one take feedback on this server's moderation?

2020-06-23 18:33:57 UTC

So here's a question. I just watched a Tim Pool segment where he basically went off on the average person for being a spineless fuck. I gotta say that i agree with him to a point. It seems to me like a lot of American's want a way to get involved, but that a lot of people don't understand how to do so. I'm one of those people that if i had clear understanding like "hey, were going to meet here, come full battle rattle" i'd be down in a second. I think a lot of this shit could be put down in a week if people actually got involved. Question is, how do we get around this? I dont do social media. Discord is about the only "social" app i even remotely want to use

2020-06-23 18:42:51 UTC

Good question.

2020-06-23 18:45:18 UTC

While I've never been to one yet but the second amendment rallies are often in the news before the rally because they are being vilified and governments are trying to find ways to ban them.

2020-06-23 18:45:57 UTC

I'm in a similar boat as you and don't use other social media so I don't know how must plan these things.

2020-06-23 18:45:59 UTC

this is too big brain

2020-06-23 18:50:54 UTC

It just irritates me that so many of us seem to want to do something to show these people that majority of us will not sit on our asses while they try to destroy our country, but there is a serious hinderance by the right being unable to mobilize people like the left can.

2020-06-23 18:51:27 UTC

i Live in rural PA, so these clowns wont show themselves here. So doing something locally would literally have no affect, as this crap isnt happening here

2020-06-23 18:54:01 UTC

Right now its kind of impossible to do so. People are getting arrested defending themselves and the attackers are going free

2020-06-23 18:54:16 UTC

I dont want to skirt that line of being considered "extremist" but as a prior military member, watching this shit is boiling my blood.

2020-06-23 18:54:19 UTC

Police need to walk away. Then the civil war can begin

2020-06-23 18:55:11 UTC

I agree with you there. Im of the mind already where if the left wants a war, lets dance already. Stop hiding behind your little "movements". You want to throw down, lets go. If it means it will end this shit and give my toddler son a better world to grow up in? sign me up

2020-06-23 19:22:44 UTC

where would one `,suggest` ?

2020-06-23 19:29:27 UTC

I'd say bring the fight to them. Project Veritas ran a segment showing a "Training" business in NYC. Storm that bitch and surround it with people. See how they like that shit on their own turf
