The leaders of both the police and military were replaced with those who were already followers of the Nazi Party. The propaganda trickled down to the lower ranks and those who agreed stayed in position, all opposed lost their jobs or those outspoke were jailed (fascism). Protesting was made illegal. Media outlets who opposed were defunded. Police who opposed them were also defunded. What the democrat party is doing now by encouraging division, fake news, and cancel culture mirror both Communist Russia and the early Nazi Party.
