If he burned someone else's flag, that's arson. I don't think it should be a hate crime, though. Also, I'm genuinely surprised that a church that's willing to twist Scripture to fit liberal ideas on sexuality would express any sympathy for the attacker, because my experience with liberal "Christians" is that they're completely libtarded and cheer whenever alt-right people get glitterbombed and punched (even though their sky daddy supposedly said to turn the other cheek). It's like they're liberals first, Christians in name only last.

@mathgrant Couldn't have put it better. I used to go to a church that started to twist scripture that way (or should I say straight up ignore it), and there only excuse was 'its 2019 now'
