Guns, to me, are like hotrodding and machining: I know just enough that I don't know shit
same
So US law dictates that for something to be considered a firearm it has to be designed after 1898 and have a self contained cartridge (Aka. a bullet). So you can own a reproduction model of a blackpowder gun designed before 1898 and it aint considered a firearm legally and Cabellas sells 1858 Remington revolver reproduction for 270 dollars 😄
me who's trying to get a gatling gun: 👀
You can actually buy a gatling gun or make one yourself
its totally legal
since they are hand cranked they are not considered machine guns.

*procedes to make one out of aks like that guy on youtube*
We need to buy a used FTMV and mount a gatling gun to the back and drive through portland and seattle
and to mkae the gun fire quicker mount a bunch of gears to the back of the truck that fires the gun multiple times a rotation
or that may be illegal. I would guess not because it aint illegal to fire a gun with a string and its kinda the same thing.
In case you guys missed it, the ATF issued
a cease and desist to Q for their Honey Badger AR pistol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCpUdKf9TmY
@Winnie37a is that Beretta 82 or 84

ATF the fun police

Yup. That is what you call a slippery slope
@Odb we still have our 5.56 listed at 65c a rround. Still selling like hotcakes
@Ironman since you work with guns, I assume you might know a lot about scopes. Do you have a recommendation for a 1-10 scope at or under $1000 ish. I really like the size/style of the “Vortex Razor HD Gen III 1-10x24 Riflescope” but i’d have to cut my left nut off and sell it to science to afford that.
Scopes are like cars. Sometimes you can get good results on a budget, but the rule of thumb is the more you spend, the better it is. What is the aperture size? 30, 40, or 50?
@Ironman I know nothing about scopes. I’ve watched about 2hours of youtube videos tonight but thats about it. 1-10 zoom is fine for me. Its for a DDM4V7 pro 5.56 rifle, 600 yards is enough for me
This scope is ridiculously priced but I really like the size.
Wow thats a nice optic. I agree its a bit pricey. We have a bushnell on our shelf for 499. Its a 3-9 x 40. Nice for hunting but I wouldnt use it for competition. I use a cheap Osprey 4x fixed for 149. Holds tight groups
I prefer fixed zoom on my optics. The variable zoom usually causes a slight parallax error from the smallest to largest zoom settings. Most competition shooters also use fixed optics.
Thats also why I can get away with a cheaper scope and still maintain reasonable results.

Oops
Sorry for all of those
@Ironman gotcha ill do some more research seems like there is a lot to consider
My goat gun is coming on sunday or saturday.

@Odb There are always trade offs. Fixed optics are just that, fixed. So if you are taking shots closer than 100 meters or farther than say 300 meters, 4x zoom is not the best. It all depends on what you are wanting to do. I wont be taking shots beyond 400 meters with a 5.56. Too much drop and not enough energy beyond that to be effective. I know they say 5.56 is good to 800 meters but the drop is pushing the boundaries of any optic as well as the energy isnt enough to even kill the fleas on a mule deer. This is where the 6.5 Grendel comes in. Its a beautiful cartridge. Hits with more energy and a flatter trajectory than a .308 at 1000 meters.
Yeap all true 👆 6.5 is a great round...fixed scopes are the way to go, its depending on what ur gonna do with it.
I use 6.5 for hog hunting in southern Arkansas
what about those hybrid sights?
Nice! Im building a 6.5 at the moment. Wilson Combat fluted heavy SS barrel should be arriving any day now.
@ThiccSpicyGenderRevealParty I dont use hybrid sights on my weapons so I cant exactly comment with an experienced reply.
i assume they're more versatile with the different ranges and such but i don't have one either
Oh Wilson combat makes great bullet slingers, I've got one that's part of my AR10 build....mr Stark do u have any micro missile in stock
