the reason to use cold water is to seal your hair pores tightly and to make sure the stuff that's been impregnated in it by the conditioner does not come off

another good way to care for your hair is to only wash it with shampoo when it's dirty

a favourite method of mine is to use a hot shower or bath then rinse myself off with cold water
