we all acclaimed him but at the time I was thinking Patrick or someone else should have been inserted
a learning moment for me personally to know the difference between solidarity and foolishness
Yea you’re not the only one. I almost left TBHz
you knew Eli was bad news at the time?
It wasn't 100 percent clear for me. I didn't know he had been such a turd on TDS
No I didn’t know all the other stuff, I just didn’t think he was a good leader.
I should have known he was stolen valor though. That was so obvious. No one really talks like that. @Tyler0317 has his way of talking about it but it isn't like Eli at all
Yea, I didn’t know any of that. He just looked like a turd and I knew some behind the scenes stuff unrelated to the stolen valor.
Didn't he claim to be deployed to Iraq, but he only ever went to Kuwait?
yea
I don't know if he ever went there though
doesn't matter really
at Cville he was loud and obnoxious. "Get the f*cking men to the front!"
It was total LARP
Patrick and many others saw him in his full inglory
There was other stuff besides that. Also he was obsessed with appealing to the left which I think he got from Spencer.
People get sent to Kuwait a lot, but it's just a base not a warzone.
He went on that speaking tour and the whole thing was just really bad IMO.
Also it went from having Damigo into we were just Spencer’s bodyguards.
Patrick sorted that whole thing out though very quick.
yea he got put in by Spencer pretty much. Maybe some day it will be discussed but it seems to me that he was inserted into the director role by Spencer with the blessing of Nate who was friends with Spencer. Spencer is another one we could have seen coming. Just not a very honest guy.
yea. IIRC Patrick didn't want to start a kerfluffle but when he and the board resisted Spencer/Eli's takeover, they showed their true stuff and made it impossible for Patrick and the board not to stand up for the membership.

I don’t really have a problem with him I just think it’s better he have his own thing, Spencer that is. He was honestly a big influence on me, and was pretty nice to me when I met him. I’ll just leave it at that.
It would be nice to have the events recounted again. They've been recounted before (at least twice in great detail) but people need to know and be reminded. IE is a very important group and is independent from the whims of things many of us like(d) (TRS) and the things many of us don't like (Cantwell, Spencer, TWP).
It turned out very well with Patrick in charge
oh yes. I no longer have any leadership ambitions (at least until there are more paid gigs) while my family is growing so I can say without fear of being labelled a sycophant that Patrick can do the job better than I could.
he is more level-headed and harder-working than anyone I know.
Like even look at Gavin and his group. Patrick led this group around that type of nonsense.
And they have blacks and Samoans
Of course, there are people like Smooth who run things behind the scenes and put in consistent, tireless work but Patrick has the right balance of wisdom, energy, and ambition that Smooth and people like me can't muster in our situations or at all
yea. It is hard not to fold in the face of based samoans *apparently* being the way forward. Now everyone can see how that shaped up.
No I’m saying the whole were not going to fight Antifa thing.
Not that we need based Jews and Samoans
We would be done if we had kept that up
no I wouldn't have supposed you meant that but I see what direction you are taking the conversation.
punching moldilocks is now a bannable offense and for good reason
that in itself illustrates why we have the correct leadership
Hahaha that’s the direction I was going.
still, my wife and I want to sent Nate letters thanking him for putting us together. We don't know how to reach him.
That’s awesome. I’m glad for you.
You’re very lucky.
