yea the Marsy's Law thing is...frustrating. I understand victims having the right to be notified of court proceedings, I think that was already a thing in Wisconsin. But giving purported "Victims" the right to speak at every hearing is just obnoxious, unnecessary, and potentially a miscarraige of justice
RE my earlier statement of declaring a victim before a crime has been proven
It's a misguided but we'll intentioned attempt to approximate justice for 'victims' in cases of violence. There is no such thing as justice for violence but the palliatives keep on coming.
I was the victim of a gang shooting. They may have already verified it, but it may have just "seemed too fast." I mention my case to say there were far more police officers and investigators than there were nurses and doctors interviewing me prior to *really* being treated for the bullet wounds.
for sure; well that's definitely a problem with how it's handled, but that is outside of the court process, it seems
NOT BUYING BLACK RIFLE COFFE ANY MORE. FUCK THEM.
https://thepostmillennial.com/black-rifle-coffee-disavows-kyle-rittenhouse
Again, seems like a smart business move to me.
except for customers like me
who look for strength of character
I dont agree or disagree. I just dont like people giving in to "pressure".
Dont trust such people,
I mean, they didn't really give in to anything, they made a clarification.
Because people were forming a misconception.
what did they say?
did they say: "we are in no shape or form affiliated with Kyle Rittenhouse, except for the fact that he seems to like our coffee"?
btw...They are missing a massive Business opportunity here.
"Kylewear" would probably make him rich.
They said we're not affiliated with him.
"We don't sponsor him nor are affiliated with him."
that is fair
They said nothing about what he did.
They just distanced themselves from the idea that he was endorsed by them.
The company was being threatened to loose all there financing and such.
@Zerb, you just advanced to level 1!
Here is a great video on the topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ekwVPZZHtI
Well they should distance themselves if they stand for law abiding safe gun ownership
Agreed.
What Kyle did was incredibly moronic, dangerous and illegal.... he should absolutely be punished. People are dead and he played at least some role in that happening...
That is not to say he needs to be convicted for murder or manslaughter or anything like that....
What Kyle did wasn't murder, but it was really, really dumb.
From all I have seen that was self defense
I would not stop at dumb... it was also reckless
I cover reckless with dumb.
Ah, gotcha
When it's not criminally reckless.
Well... after watching the first witness in the PH I was satisfied that he will not be convicted of anything except some sort of possession of a firearm statute. Which will likely be a misdemeanor and can be expunged from his record after a couple years
But we don't need to gloss over the fact that his stupidity played a role in people dying (of course the victims were also behaving in a very stupid manner as well)
It may be expunged immediately since the charge was before he was 18.
what is kinda annoying is that if not for all this press... I doubt he would get tried.
