Something tore my best friend up pretty good. He did 4 tours, they all changed him, as they do. 2nd was rough, for both, but he suffered survivors guilt pretty heavy. 3rd, was worse, never did share the details, but only 1 thing in my mind could have hit him harder than first combat or thinking you should have died instead of another. Glad i was out before that.
That's the stuff a lot of folks don't get. Missed birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, family growing up and going through life. Not being able to be at a family gathering for years when you come home. Coming home, and everyone wants a hug right off the plane, and you can't tell your mom and dad not to touch you.

Sickening that the Dems and RHINO traitors are forcing thousands of troops to twiddle their thumbs in Afghanistan for more years.

yea the Marsy's Law thing is...frustrating. I understand victims having the right to be notified of court proceedings, I think that was already a thing in Wisconsin. But giving purported "Victims" the right to speak at every hearing is just obnoxious, unnecessary, and potentially a miscarraige of justice

It's a misguided but we'll intentioned attempt to approximate justice for 'victims' in cases of violence. There is no such thing as justice for violence but the palliatives keep on coming.
I was the victim of a gang shooting. They may have already verified it, but it may have just "seemed too fast." I mention my case to say there were far more police officers and investigators than there were nurses and doctors interviewing me prior to *really* being treated for the bullet wounds.
