Don't let the government get involved or they'll uphold the monopoly with regulations I've seen it many times

In epistemology, the Münchhausen trilemma is a thought experiment used to demonstrate the impossibility of proving any truth, even in the fields of logic and mathematics. If it is asked how any given proposition is known to be true, proof may be provided.

2020-11-24 17:23:07 UTC

Empathy is not a given human trait. It randomly occurs at various levels. That is why empathy is no evidence for ethical standing.

2020-11-24 17:23:31 UTC

I know a little about Munchausen's but not a trilema, no. @Doc

2020-11-24 17:23:32 UTC

@Jorgen Johnson I know. I teach epistemology.

2020-11-24 17:23:38 UTC

Talking to your opponents without trying to understand them is lacking in empathy and not conducive to constructive dialog

2020-11-24 17:24:09 UTC

Randomly shitting on atheists and implying that this is their politics, numerous times in this conversation? That is evidence of this lack of empathy

2020-11-24 17:24:22 UTC

You are so single minded you have never seen the world from another pov

2020-11-24 17:24:29 UTC

I'm not an atheist

2020-11-24 17:24:36 UTC

Fuggit, Googling it

2020-11-24 17:24:39 UTC

@Zuluzeit It is Fabulous. It is where the human consciousness meets its limit. And there are only three pathways from there. One is Dogma. And since humans have a low uncertainty tolerance, it explains why dogmas becomes so important.

2020-11-24 17:24:46 UTC

But it makes me cringe very hard every time you say things like that.

2020-11-24 17:24:57 UTC

Taking a stand on principle is not about empathy. It is about the line which when crossed is a declaration of war. The Left declared war the Right will finish it.

2020-11-24 17:25:08 UTC

Cultish ^^

2020-11-24 17:25:37 UTC

@Doc The God of the Gaps steps in readily to fill that need. Lol

2020-11-24 17:25:39 UTC

For you what is cultish is anything you cannot control.

2020-11-24 17:25:50 UTC

@Whithers Empathy is a mistranslation of the german "einfühlen" - originally used in extension of art and architecture. It is a learned function of the brain. Like anything else.

2020-11-24 17:25:53 UTC

Incorrect.

2020-11-24 17:26:13 UTC

@Zuluzeit Indeed! And Munchausens trilemma explains very much why that is.

2020-11-24 17:26:40 UTC

I have enjoyed our conversations and I hope they continue. I am concerned that your fixation on "The Left" being inherently evil is an unhealthy StrawMan argument. Even Trump said that there were many fine people on both sides. I fervently assert that I am a centrist, but others could consider me a "leftist", because my opinions on certain matters may be left of theirs. I assure you that I am a proud American and only want the best for our country. Everything is a matter of perspective. None of us has all the answers, but recognizing what we have in common over what we don't and acknowledging the innate sincerity in wanting to do good that each of us has as human beings is the foundation that this country was built on.

2020-11-24 17:27:15 UTC

Major news networks thrive and make money on our civil unrest. They appear to have been promoting this for their own financial gain. The internet alone allows outside influence to create civil unrest. People in this very chat were, and probably are still pushing for civil war and attempting to influence a war.

2020-11-24 17:27:21 UTC

@Doc Then explain how empathy is specifically lacking in those with the lack of bio-physical brain development that results in Anti-Social Behavioral Disorders.

2020-11-24 17:27:26 UTC

Hey, I'm a centrist and get called a conservative nutjob because I feel like you can use force to defend property.

2020-11-24 17:27:31 UTC

"noone speaks warmer of war than those who never had to fight in one"

2020-11-24 17:27:35 UTC

You are talking in a room with atheists who might agree with you. Or "Leftists" who might agree with you on a lot of things. Then you just defame them midsentence for no constructive reason. Because they are your Enemy, the enemy of your little group, and you have framed all your enemies in these caricatures. That is what I call cultish.

2020-11-24 17:27:50 UTC

@Whithers No problem, it was never learned.

2020-11-24 17:28:58 UTC

Or, as is the case in some cases of autism, congenital disorders have led to a defect in the terminal endings of the mirror neurons, where they attach to amygdala. Represented in fMRI as "amygdalian athropy".

2020-11-24 17:28:58 UTC

Tabula Rasa is an unprovable assertion. Just a religion without a god.

2020-11-24 17:29:21 UTC

Mixing religion and politics = cultish

2020-11-24 17:29:34 UTC

Debateable.

2020-11-24 17:29:37 UTC

Assuming your Enemy is uniformly described by some caricature = cultish

2020-11-24 17:29:59 UTC

@Maw Well, you can use force to defend property. Which is a scientifically provable fact.

2020-11-24 17:30:08 UTC

Everything is a diversion... They don't want us to see what is right in front of our faces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxmrcfbklVg

2020-11-24 17:30:12 UTC

I mean... no one is saying you can't.

2020-11-24 17:30:16 UTC

@Whithers Antisocial personality disorder is, however, showing equivocality, it is a heterogenous and not very well defined group. As Robert Hare himself said: "we have been lookig the wrong places".,

2020-11-24 17:30:16 UTC

I think we can even repeat that experiment.

2020-11-24 17:30:20 UTC

It's not even a question of science.

2020-11-24 17:30:27 UTC

lol

2020-11-24 17:30:37 UTC

It's not debatable because I am merely defining my use of the term in this conversation (:

2020-11-24 17:30:48 UTC

@Whithers If you want to learn more about antisocial PD, we should perhaps petition @Maw for a forensic science room.

2020-11-24 17:31:15 UTC

Doc he isn't going to listen to you
