We'd have to change the Constitution, but I am not totally opposed to the idea.

2020-11-27 02:32:53 UTC

He's spent more money on the research and development towards a vaccine than other small countries

2020-11-27 02:33:02 UTC

Yeah

2020-11-27 02:33:57 UTC

can the federal legislature, "pack" the supreme court by adding new justices to the existing 9?

2020-11-27 02:33:58 UTC

I am not totally sure on this one... Were these funds allocated by Congress or did Trump fund it another way?

2020-11-27 02:34:06 UTC

Like Kushner said.. let the blue state suffer

2020-11-27 02:34:14 UTC

Oh I thought you meant bill gates

2020-11-27 02:34:14 UTC

I'm talking about Bill Gates in that one, his own personal wealth

2020-11-27 02:34:17 UTC

Yeah

2020-11-27 02:34:36 UTC

The legislature does determine the size of the court.

2020-11-27 02:35:17 UTC

I figured it always just an unspoken rule, like don't indict the previous president,

2020-11-27 02:35:36 UTC

Because by doing it yourself, you justify the other side doing the same

2020-11-27 02:35:48 UTC

opens up a whole can of worms

2020-11-27 02:35:49 UTC

Oh... Sorry... Hard to keep up. Very respectable. Gates has been a voice of reason during all of this - despite the shade sent his way.

2020-11-27 02:36:02 UTC

Did you hear them people saying Bill Gates is the devil 😂😂😂 people have lost the plot this year, all round

2020-11-27 02:36:02 UTC

@Beth, you just advanced to level 10!

2020-11-27 02:36:33 UTC

he stands to gain nothing from "micro-chipping" people

2020-11-27 02:36:59 UTC

he has more money, than he himself admitted would know how to spend in a lifetime.

2020-11-27 02:37:13 UTC

I can’t help but laugh at those conspiracies

2020-11-27 02:37:21 UTC

It’s hilarious

2020-11-27 02:37:59 UTC

@TaLoN132 absorbed into other areas. The team itself by name is nonexistent but not the functions of it

2020-11-27 02:38:10 UTC

But yeah, I think if the current legislature decides to add another SCOTUS justice, then there's nothing to prevent the next legislature to add one as well.

2020-11-27 02:38:42 UTC

The common courtesy of the sharks, some would call it

2020-11-27 02:38:49 UTC

Slippery slope

2020-11-27 02:39:04 UTC

Most of those people resigned and did other things. Meaning not working on upkeep and making sure we are prepared for a pandemic. South Korea had one in place and it worked like a charm @JonM16

2020-11-27 02:39:43 UTC

But South Korea has much more experience with a pandemic than us

2020-11-27 02:39:54 UTC

That's not how I read it. It said that the group was disbanded some accepted jobs elsewhere while others resigned. The group that was focused on pandemics was no more.

2020-11-27 02:40:06 UTC

You didn’t see these people being brought on stage for the pandemic. Trump had to make a makeshift pandemic response team @JonM16

2020-11-27 02:40:07 UTC

I feel the same way about the recent SCOTUS ruling on religious gathering, my concern was setting precedent for the states to justify to dispel and prevent religious gatherings if had ruled the other way

2020-11-27 02:40:10 UTC

I guess taking hundreds of billions of dollars of tax revenue out of the budget is a good play. I wonder whether any of that would be useful right now. I also wonder how who benefited the most from those tax rewards are doing right now. I hope they're ok.

Totally separately, how is everyone doing with their paltry tax windfall? Carrying you through these 'difficult times'?

2020-11-27 02:40:21 UTC

@Beth we were on track to being just as prepared

2020-11-27 02:41:38 UTC

The major difference between a pandemic in asia and in the occident is not in the medical teams, but in the culture.

2020-11-27 02:41:41 UTC

Well we will never no now will we. No point crying over spilt milk

2020-11-27 02:41:45 UTC

Asia is able to absorb it, the west is not.

2020-11-27 02:42:00 UTC

I think overall this whole year has been very sobering about the politicians we often looked up to. The dysfunctionality isn't new, it just hasn't caught as much attention until now.

2020-11-27 02:42:09 UTC

@Beth yeah, I guess you're right. Vote red!

2020-11-27 02:42:39 UTC

I don't think I'll vote again for a long time,

2020-11-27 02:42:47 UTC

@Beth 100% sure the USA is prepared for a asteroid collision with earth. I think pandemic is a nothing if they care

2020-11-27 02:42:50 UTC

@Adam135 Useless generals function OK in peacetime....

2020-11-27 02:43:04 UTC

@Adam135 are you a Republican voter?

2020-11-27 02:43:04 UTC

@Doc we would have at least deregulated testing sites immediately and gotten ppe made quickly through the war powers act. That alone would not have needed any cultural shift. The contact tracing would have
