@realz I think it boils to this... Matt Braynard is asserting that he has found smoke and it is proof of a forest fire. I think based on the results that he outlined in the video, it would be more accurate to say that he found some wisps of smoke... it could be a forest fire, but it could also be a campfire.

@realz I get the idea of trying to test a sample in order to get an idea of the whole, but I think there are logical problems with what he can draw with what they did. Sampling is a daunting endeavor with questionable reliability in the best of circumstances - take polling for instance. To get reasonably reliable data, many controls are required. Given the exceedingly short timeframe, he couldn't reasonably expected to have accomplished that. I know that he provides some qualifications at the beginning of the video and identifies some caveats throughout, but he knows that his target audience are not likely to take those into consideration. I am going to listen to the interview and see if he makes a point of qualifying his findings.
