@thebrodys you would be blind to say you can’t tell the difference. Also how come no one ever advocates for government paid ids for people that everyone gets for free when they turn 18

2020-12-03 19:10:24 UTC

It's just not fair for her to have brought it up in that context. I don't believe that she is a sociologist testifying that ID's should be required because it increases the likelihood that someone of a different race might be able to vote multiple times because the poll worker is of a different race.

2020-12-03 19:11:02 UTC

@thebrodys i can make a fake id. And vote for someone else .

2020-12-03 19:11:11 UTC

IMO, unless there is a solid explanation... that looks pretty incriminating

2020-12-03 19:11:37 UTC

Per the same logic, it would be harder for someone to tell if the person in the photo was the same person in front of them.

2020-12-03 19:11:53 UTC

Alright, I'm going to explain this here, and I hope everyone stops calling each other racist.

Races have a preferential ability to distinguish one another apart because they are **that race**. It's harder for a white person to distinguish differences in the faces of other races, and vise-versa. This is backed up by science, it's a literal fact. This is called cross-race bias or own-race bias.

There is nothing inherently racist or malevolent in this, it's just the ability to process different information for different races, as they focus on other kinds of differences than the inherent race you are.

Second: It is not a fact that races of one type are less prone to be unique than races of another type. To suggest this is mildly racist in my opinion. You don't have to suggest they're inferior for something to be judgmental and prejudice. I don't believe I've seen **any** science suggesting that people of a certain race are less distinguishable to each other rather than outside races, and if there were, I'd point to the fact that one race sees another race differently than they see themselves.

2020-12-03 19:12:02 UTC

@Beth they say it’s racist because minorities in rural places tend to be poorer and rely on public transportation or being unable to get time off work to get anything involved paper work done. It’s racist in effect

2020-12-03 19:13:12 UTC

@Maw racism does not require malicious intent also I advocated for hiring more Chinese people in polling places of statistically they would be better at screening for Asians

2020-12-03 19:13:29 UTC

@james j I literally said that.

2020-12-03 19:13:55 UTC

I agree with this completely. I’m not trying to be smug about it or anything. Honestly, I genuinely have a hard time picking up differences in other races.

2020-12-03 19:14:13 UTC

But I said that. Was that tagged to everyone? Sometimes It doesn’t tell me @Maw

2020-12-03 19:14:18 UTC

I wasn’t aware that this was a thing. Certainly does make sense.

2020-12-03 19:14:24 UTC

The real question is... how did you change your names color @Maw

2020-12-03 19:14:39 UTC

This is because you're likely not of that race, and look at certain features that are more random in other races differently.

2020-12-03 19:14:44 UTC

Yes, this was to everyone.

2020-12-03 19:14:50 UTC

Stop calling each other racist.

2020-12-03 19:15:09 UTC

@yetiCodes By being a mod.

2020-12-03 19:15:11 UTC

Jk

2020-12-03 19:15:15 UTC

Someone from Fulton County testified this morning before the Senate committee that they did not stop voting during election night and that Republican poll watchers were there the whole time. They said that some workers chose to leave at 10:30 and mentioned to some of the poll workers that *they* were leaving, but that they had been asked to stay and election officials never told watchers to leave.

2020-12-03 19:16:05 UTC

I don’t think a regular ID goes far enough. I think everyone should have a chipped voter card of some kind that is coded with your voter information. Voting should require one of these cards AND when you do your actual vote a finger print linked with your voter card should be required to submit the vote

2020-12-03 19:16:21 UTC

Voting is the most sacred thing a citizen can do in this country.

2020-12-03 19:17:21 UTC

It’s so sacred that the GOP consistently try everything they can to suppress votes @thebrodys why don’t we have a voting holiday to ensure people get to vote

2020-12-03 19:17:23 UTC

@yetiCodes They also addressed the water leak issue... The leak was discovered at 6:07 and fixed in a couple of hours. They said that the owner of State Farm arena was prepared to testify to that fact. At no time were ballots left alone and the chain of custody was not broken.

2020-12-03 19:18:23 UTC

@thebrodys make the country pay for it and ensure everyone can get their chip voter ids and everyone would be on board

2020-12-03 19:18:26 UTC

I agree that there should be some sort of voting holiday..called Election Day. I do think people should be given that time to vote

2020-12-03 19:18:42 UTC

Agree. Government should pay for it

2020-12-03 19:18:45 UTC

Oh, dang. Gotcha.

2020-12-03 19:18:52 UTC

@TaLoN132 can guliani get sued for misleading information. And lying

2020-12-03 19:18:53 UTC

Everyone should get a freedom sausage

2020-12-03 19:18:59 UTC

You do know there are poor white people in the same situation though?

2020-12-03 19:19:21 UTC

Shhh...that’s an unpopular opinion

2020-12-03 19:19:34 UTC

Oops

2020-12-03 19:20:20 UTC

Poor white folks dont have conservatives going after them specifically though or the Jim Crow effect

2020-12-03 19:21:17 UTC

@Beth yeah but there are more rich whites in those areas than rich minorities disenfranchising those minorities. Thus racist in effect

2020-12-03 19:21:38 UTC

No, they have liberals telling them that they have no validity.

2020-12-03 19:22:29 UTC

Telling who they dont have validity?

2020-12-03 19:22:48 UTC

No they are just going against the conservatives trying to disenfranchise them. Of course then conservatives in their twisted logic try and turn that into “well that means you have no validity” @thebrodys

2020-12-03 19:23:10 UTC

Poor people, who are white. Conservatives knocking minorities down and liberals doing the same thing to white people. It’s all dumb

2020-12-03 19:23:12 UTC

We could employ a number of identification methods to ensure they are available to all people. Those with mobile phones and email addresses could have 2-factor authentication. When they check in, they send a text to the mobile phone number given when the voter registers. Show the text to the worker. Match the codes. Rock on. When they register in person or the first time they vote in person, they could take a picture of the voter and save it to their registration record. Disneyland does this will all of their guests now. When you present your pass at the gate, they take your picture. If you leave the park and come back, they check the picture - no hand stamping any more.

2020-12-03 19:23:19 UTC

It goes beyond that James it's not just percentage populations

2020-12-03 19:24:00 UTC

@thebrodys no they are going against conservative policies not the conservative white. That’s just what the conservative politicians say in response
