That's not entirely accurate... We rarely test people for flu, so we do not ever have accurate numbers for flu deaths. The CDC website explains how they arrive at the flu statistics each year and it is basically a guesstimate - so, it is not really possible to know the death rate for flu, but a bad flu is 0.5% and is usually around 0.1%. They track a figure that is something they call "excess deaths", which are deaths that cannot be attributed to known factors like cancer, heart disease, non-flu diagnoses, accidents, suicides, etc. - the rest of these excessive deaths are assumed to be the flu. It is interesting to note that when tracking excess deaths during the pandemic, they are still pretty high (which generally goes down as the causes are known) and some feel that the CoVid deaths might be severely understated - as fewer people are getting the flu with the social distancing measures that many follow.

@leftingfighter33 again it’s a proposal independent from any stimulus bill. It’s meant to encourage people that are lazy to get to the 60 percent number. You are reading into it from anti vaxx perspective not the perspective of a lazy person who doesn’t typically get vaccinated every year

You are giving people who get the vaccine extra cash to feed their families and depriving those who are not ready to take the vaccine yet from getting the extra cash. Vaccines usually take 10 years to develop. You don't just rush in and take it right after it has been developed specially if you are young and healthy.

Again, it doesn't matter if it is separate from the stimulus bill, that is an extra 1500 a family could have on top of the stimulus to feed their children because they are poor. Many will do it simply because they have no option and no money. They would end up starving without the extra stimulus. Would you rather feed your children or get the vaccine? That is basically forcing the poor to get vaccinated against their will. You don't have a choice when you are poor.

I remember when the majority of liberals opposed the vaccine, and now suddenly they had a change of heart because they think Biden will win. It is ridiculous. The vaccine is still new and has not been tested in a massive amount of people. This is essentially a experiment.

If there were no lockdowns, I'd be more inclined to agree.

@leftingfighter33 if they are starving it’s because we have a bad congress that didn’t give out stimulus packages much earlier. The point remains non one is forcing people to get vaccines it’s just a proposal to encourage people to get vaccines. It doesn’t work for the reasons cited.

But there are government mandated lockdowns current occuring.
