No, they raise tension. Then you draw it down by giving your opponent an out that is in line with your argument.

2020-12-08 21:29:28 UTC

@DrSammyD Depends on your Priorities. Instant Gratification and interfere with long term goals!

2020-12-08 21:29:41 UTC

Or is it about enforcing the tyranny of a technocratic elite that just happens to lean center?

2020-12-08 21:29:55 UTC

heh

2020-12-08 21:29:56 UTC

I got to get back and wrap up some trades... The bottom line is personal attacks are not ideal and should be avoided. I can imagine how me calling someone and idiot gives them an "out"... but whatever not a giant issue

2020-12-08 21:30:56 UTC

You give them an out from being an idiot. It's like asking for more than you want and then walking it back to your actual position.

2020-12-08 21:31:15 UTC

But more emotional than argumentative

2020-12-08 21:32:06 UTC

Soapboxing or Grandstanding?

2020-12-08 21:32:35 UTC

Neither. Persuasion. Make em think that your position was their idea.

2020-12-08 21:32:58 UTC

Most everybody on this board does similarly.

2020-12-08 21:33:23 UTC

Yes, they do that with arguments, I do it with insults. It's faster

2020-12-08 21:33:40 UTC

I combine insults with arguments

2020-12-08 21:34:13 UTC

But I've been asked to refrain

2020-12-08 21:34:36 UTC

Instant Gratification

2020-12-08 21:35:13 UTC

Not sure how long term goals are harmed by moving people's position closer to your own.

2020-12-08 21:35:58 UTC

I know.

2020-12-08 21:41:15 UTC

Subservience under a technological system, is a much more efficient way to achieve promlegation of one's will on others.

2020-12-08 21:41:56 UTC

Systems of technology by their very nature are authoritarian.

2020-12-08 21:42:00 UTC

I suppose I do it for fun.

2020-12-08 21:42:20 UTC

Fun and prophet?

2020-12-08 21:43:22 UTC

I need more phone juice 🍋

Poor Trigger Control!....lol

2020-12-08 21:48:38 UTC

@Recalibar here's the thing attorneys typically won't take junk cases even if you pay them.

2020-12-08 21:49:01 UTC

What's the end game?

2020-12-08 21:49:13 UTC

And yes a proven track record of junk?

2020-12-08 21:49:17 UTC

What about state attorney generals?

2020-12-08 21:50:24 UTC

Normally with no political ax to grind or gain, no.

2020-12-08 21:51:15 UTC

We have the former in the latter

2020-12-08 21:51:27 UTC

Hey yall what's the deal with TX suing PA and like I forgot, WI and like 5 other states ❓

2020-12-08 21:51:44 UTC

The latter for sure.

2020-12-08 21:52:01 UTC

anyhow just thought I'd ask, enjoying yalls convo

2020-12-08 21:53:49 UTC

Apparently electorate desires are moving the needle, too bad it doesn't happen typically.

2020-12-08 21:54:30 UTC

They argue the potential for fraud undermines the constitution and the will of their voters, and that the allegations should be investigated before the election moves forward, because the will of their voters are undermined by fraud in the system.

2020-12-08 21:55:12 UTC

colloquialisms are strong with @skeeterburke.

2020-12-08 21:55:28 UTC

It may be theater, of sorts... If the plan is to challenge the electors sent from these states in January in order to prevent Biden from reaching 270, this is potentially part of making that case. They will petition the US SC to invalidate those election results, with little chance of success. Then, when January 7 rolls around, they will challenge the votes and point to being forced to do so because SCOTUS failed to act.

2020-12-08 21:56:58 UTC

What's your prediction in terms of outcome?
