it can pushed out into the future but death is ultimately not preventable ... heart disease and cancer are the two top killers ... my 82 mother's heart is failing her, it's just wearing out, when she dies they'll list it as heart disease

2020-12-21 22:52:15 UTC

If people just behaved like the Swedes we would be in a better place economically

2020-12-21 22:52:29 UTC

??!??!??!

2020-12-21 22:52:29 UTC

@Maw, you just advanced to level 36!

2020-12-21 22:52:37 UTC

Unfortunately Americans are like children when it come to simple requests

2020-12-21 22:52:54 UTC

Didn't you hate how Sweden reacted to Covid?

2020-12-21 22:53:02 UTC

You sure you want to stand by that statement?

2020-12-21 22:53:13 UTC

@meglide there is a lot to consider with medical ethics and longevity

2020-12-21 22:53:46 UTC

which you didn't do with your "preventable" statement

2020-12-21 22:53:48 UTC

@Maw I didn’t hate it completely due to how to Swedes generally adhere to common sense protocols

2020-12-21 22:54:33 UTC

... but you understand it wouldn't work here.

2020-12-21 22:55:08 UTC

@meglide I did. Imagine being a heart patient for 4 or 2 years instead of a 10. Push back heart disease as much as possible. Not to mention there I plenty of progress being made in that department

2020-12-21 22:55:27 UTC

I know because of the American attitude @Maw

2020-12-21 22:55:51 UTC

We have more conspiracy theorists

2020-12-21 22:56:14 UTC

and more people. 10 000 dead bodies piled up looks more dramatic than 25

2020-12-21 22:56:48 UTC

stockholm is the size of a morningtown in colorado

2020-12-21 22:57:13 UTC

the more people you have lumped together, the bigger the potential for hysteria

2020-12-21 22:57:25 UTC

Population Density may be a Factor on Disease Transmission?

2020-12-21 22:57:30 UTC

Medicare For All does not equal lower healthcare program budgets. The ineptitude of government running anything besides war (which I'd argue private industry can do it better) does not decrease medical costs. The most common example (in the US) of government-run healthcare would be the VA. And man does that have a load of issues I wouldn't wish on anyone. So I'm having a very hard time seeing how M4A would lead to a lower healthcare budget.

2020-12-21 22:57:36 UTC

Inarguably.

2020-12-21 22:57:44 UTC

The states where people are dying unnecessarily are place like South Dakota where hardly anyone lives

2020-12-21 22:58:08 UTC

sounds like the state for me

2020-12-21 22:58:20 UTC

can I rename it Doclandia?

2020-12-21 22:58:55 UTC

heard land is cheap out there. buy your own chunk and start your own town called Docalndia?

2020-12-21 22:58:55 UTC

And deaths outside of these states are necessary?

2020-12-21 22:58:57 UTC

@DeathRhodes666 the conservative ineptitude of government argument exits because
A. They don’t want the government to works
B. Elect idiots
C. Sabotage any comprehensive program that can be effective

2020-12-21 22:59:15 UTC

@Maw no, avoidable

2020-12-21 22:59:20 UTC

@DeathRhodes666 Docopolis

2020-12-21 23:00:06 UTC

Are you a God? Are you omnipotent? Or do you have anything to back up the statement you just made?

2020-12-21 23:00:22 UTC

Those same three points can also be used as a blaming mechanism for progressive ineptitude of government you know? Except progressives want gov't to work, only for them. They also elect idiots (AOC), and not just sabotage but also propose ineffective, comprehensive programs.

2020-12-21 23:00:39 UTC

Could just keep it simple and call it...Doc

2020-12-21 23:00:57 UTC

some folks live perfectly healthy lives with heart disease kept in check with simple medicines for decades, this heart disease was not an result of unhealthy diet or obesity, genetics perhaps, environmental factors beyond one's control, maybe even a virus ... ask me how I know

2020-12-21 23:01:19 UTC

Like that scene form Holy Grail where they met the wizard.

2020-12-21 23:01:50 UTC

That was me, actully.

2020-12-21 23:02:00 UTC

Its the one thing I dont know- swallows.

2020-12-21 23:03:12 UTC

If you're about to come at me with inferences, I'd suggest you not.

2020-12-21 23:03:21 UTC

There are plenty of examples of competent governments with Better health outcome and spend much less @DeathRhodes666 you think conservatives won’t get m4a. Like I said this isn’t some fantasy. There are tons of example of effective , inexpensive at point of care systems worldwide. This ineptitude of government is specify to conservatives because of how they view government. It’s not that it doesn’t work , they don’t want it to work because they were trained from birth to think government is evil.

2020-12-21 23:04:28 UTC

@Maw avoidable because people there took no precautions and had all the cornfields in the world to socially distance. They didn’t live on top of each other like nyc

2020-12-21 23:05:01 UTC

And you know this how? Also how can you be certain the spread didn't happen in their private households primarily?

2020-12-21 23:05:39 UTC

private households are 35 %

2020-12-21 23:05:50 UTC

the rest are pubs and clubs
