Actually, from what I can tell, he is beholden to Wall Street and the stock market and he is probably to biggest single reason that the country is so divided right now. Social Media wasn't even a thing when S230 was legislated. We had CompuServe, AOL, and Prodigy at the time. It was intended to protect ISP's from liability, which is more analogous to phone companies, because many are. We should have come up with meaningful legislation regarding social media, but Congress probably couldn't have predicted how it was going to end up anyways. They are not the most technical bunch...
