https://fiscalship.org this should be required learning for all high school graduates.

2020-12-22 22:48:29 UTC

People should know more about how money is disturbed

2020-12-22 22:48:34 UTC

I would be happy with Civics.

2020-12-22 22:50:05 UTC

I don’t even think my high school offered economics classes. Or accounting. And they don’t teach valuable skills right now. If I was telling 14 years old what to learn I would say SQL, Python, Salesforce, Excel, you can go make $40 an hour right now with those skills.

2020-12-22 22:51:18 UTC

Instead they convince kids to march out of school for hotly debated topics and teach them that capitalism is hurting them so the only answer is minimum wage. I mean I do live in Oregon though so it’s probably extreme.

2020-12-22 22:52:08 UTC

Or just be able to Balance a Checkbook or the ability to figure out how to make Change on a Purchase.

2020-12-22 22:54:37 UTC

Exactly. My father was born so long ago that Latin was taught everywhere. 😂 they really had better education. Minus some of the rhetoric, but you can overcome rhetoric. It’s hard to overcome a lack of math, reasoning or writing skills when you’re an adult. Not impossible but hard. I feel for these kids.

2020-12-22 23:01:32 UTC

That's the same reason I changed my major from Political Science to Computer Science.

2020-12-22 23:04:28 UTC

Makes total sense. There are things I would have liked to study but I also wanted a career 😂

2020-12-22 23:05:49 UTC

same, even if raising the minimum wage or installing a UBI was the answer, even if Medicare for All can work perfectly. To expect it to ever happen would just simply be wishful thinking. There comes a certain point where you have to do what's best in your own interest for self-preservation.

2020-12-22 23:11:36 UTC

It’s funny though. If you got rid of Medicare and only focused on insurance for expensive and risky conditions you would have money to fund almost all the other Democratic wish list items. Well not UBI but most of them. I would get rid of Medicare and SS. If you just put SS into an index you would have way more money than what you get paid out of it. There are some things that sounds good but end up screwing people over. If it were up to me everyone would get 5 years of UBI to use means tested at anytime. But I would also require service and federal ID at 21. Anyone wanting to opt out could retain citizenship but would get no UBI. And I would have massive deregulation to allow people to start their own businesses. Like China’s free economic zones. Aye no one is making me president though 😂

@Gypsy, you just advanced to level 9!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0OXJneDQ1s&ab_channel=JibJab so long ago and yet feels so relevant now

@FaithJoy Could you please look into adding youtube 'chapters' for recorded sessions? They are great for skipping ahead to the beginning of a discussion on a new topic

Todays quiz! Find two medical mishaps:

2020-12-23 00:43:07 UTC

72 5 minute speeches makes no sense. It's a 2 hour debate followed by vote.

2020-12-23 00:44:58 UTC

Hey, quick question. A mate knew I was on this server and asked me to see if anyone knew what Texas seccession would mean for Texans living outside of Texas. Can anyone help out?

2020-12-23 00:45:45 UTC

yes. They would be insurgents.

2020-12-23 00:57:24 UTC

Hey real quick is it true Georgia there decertifying results for Biden

2020-12-23 01:58:20 UTC

@RobertGrulerEsq @FaithJoy Great show tonight, and honestly, I think a lot of people needed that little bit of extra wholesome surprise Mom invasion in their lives. Just one of those little things in life that can go a long way to improving the outlook of an otherwise bleak 2020.

2020-12-23 01:58:39 UTC

I almost want a mom myself, now.

2020-12-23 02:00:04 UTC

@jackel37isagod really? Georgia is decertifying? good!!! Wow!! Wonder if it means the other states will fall like dominoes?

2020-12-23 02:00:23 UTC

Well now we know the answer to that part of old MacDonald. The money printer really does go bbrrrrrrrrr 😂

2020-12-23 02:01:30 UTC

I recommend people start investing in non-currency assets, if the government is going to continue being this loose with money.

2020-12-23 02:01:47 UTC

Gold is always a good choice, any precious metals really.

2020-12-23 02:02:05 UTC

Plutonium

2020-12-23 02:02:08 UTC

Thought you would get to last superchat. If you see this great, if not ima ask tomorrow, can my campaign slogan be your intro. I feel like that is really good!

2020-12-23 02:02:42 UTC

At first I thought it said “God”. I was like “well it’s as good an investment as money getting printed” 😂

2020-12-23 02:02:46 UTC

You know judges not too interested in justice, I always thought that would be a great campaign speech!

2020-12-23 02:02:54 UTC

Hey, is not insurrection different than martial law?

2020-12-23 02:03:19 UTC

Dude I'am even thinking of getting more involved in politics after all of this mess and I'am not the type to normally care at all..

2020-12-23 02:03:43 UTC

Insurrection allows military to size the voting machines while public maintaining rights, right?

2020-12-23 02:04:08 UTC

I know o listen to him during night shift as a podcast type, I hope he stays in the politics. I don’t mind police but he’s one of the few that covers it like news.

2020-12-23 02:04:13 UTC

I will tell you right now, I try to vote for the least competent politicians. I can’t get them to make good policies so I aim to get them to stop making bad ones

2020-12-23 02:04:36 UTC

That's good, gypsy.

2020-12-23 02:04:44 UTC

Since the voting machines are owned by the public, why can't the public have an audit immediately?
