in any case: Jack Donovan makes many of the same arguments as BAP and sometimes the _exact_ same arguments as BAP: the anti-feminism arguments, the ones about "man is a producer", the anti-modernism
It's fine in the right context.
@DixieBoy76 - KY I don't care much, just giving a subtle nudge to be careful what you're posting in <#481597551272001546>.
i loved the part about Alcibiades, Bob Denard, and the other pirate like people
@Salo Saloson so your main critique is his style and the fact that some of the book feels derivative.
there's one or two more, but sure
That's fair.
I have BAP book. It is next on queue after Tucker's
I disagree, but I see why you would feel that way.
you're in for a trip, Ape
I liked most of bap before the bap content got very saturated
BAP book was good for sparking an interest a paradigm different than the one we have now
Whatever that may be
Reading "Lincoln: the Man" now
Just a poke through the metaphorical blinders
I'll say this: if I made money off a meme, I wouldn't give af about style or anything
the style is the most important part of the book
the style is the weakest part of the book
This might be sacrilege but bap book felt just about as intellectually relevant as Evola, but more entertaining
I dunno if you read much leftist stuff. But tone and style count for a lot and theirs is often chiding and scolding
I should do that
oh, it's entertaining. the asides and monologues are so bizarre I couldn't help but laugh
Kingfish Mindset
Mark Twain was a meme character
How shitposting and deli meats can make you into a man
Gabaghoul
Gabagool isn’t just a meme it’s a lifestyle
A very unhealthy one, at that.
unhealthy is code for _delicious_
You just don’t understand it
I’ll help you Ian you’ll see the way of the deli meats
You're too kind.
"Welcome to Kingfish Butcher's & Fine Meats: the only butcher's shop to have EVERY variety of gabbagool"
That’s basically already what I do
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN I read a Twain book recently that I could barely finish because his style got to be so tired. It felt like Reddit the book after a while.
It was his dispatches from Hawaii which he admits to the reader that he fictionalized and pre-dated after returning to San Francisco in order to satisfy his editor who wanted him to actually *write* something as a result of his all-expenses-paid trip.
The whole book ultimately made the case for the annexation of Hawaii in a ham-handed way. It actually convinced me of the opposite.
does gabbagool even have varieties?
Yes
There’s mild, hot, low sodium etc
If you get anything other than Hot you’re a dork though
The flavor comes from the spice
