Maybe I’ll put a few taco stands out of business.

2019-02-05 05:56:12 UTC

Here's how I know the starvation thing is largely bullshit: Have you ever seen immigrants who from places like Somalia? They usually look pretty bad healthwise, unless they were upper class back in their home country. My family were peasants in Poland. If the narrative is true, they should have been starving in breadlines for 8 hours a day, which would have caused stunted growth and all kinds of health problems. Yet, none of them have this. They all look fine. So, ya, communism was bad, but it wasn't Somalia tier like some people on the right make it sound like.

I think a lot of β€œx ethnic group looks weird” is kind of eyeroll, but seriously. Somalis (Somali men more-so) look ill

2019-02-05 05:59:19 UTC

Didn’t they just starv certain parts of the country?

2019-02-05 05:59:26 UTC

no lol

2019-02-05 05:59:32 UTC

I’m not against leaning left either

2019-02-05 06:00:02 UTC

But they would take grain from the farmers and give it to say the urban population

2019-02-05 06:00:02 UTC

If you're talking about the Holodomor, the reason is affected primary Ukraine is because that's where the grain happened to be produced. There's literally zero evidence that it was a genocide.

2019-02-05 06:00:09 UTC

Kingdom of that $$wagg purple mountain Kush

2019-02-05 06:00:32 UTC

anime won the Super Bowl?
noice.

2019-02-05 06:00:39 UTC

Also, a large part of the Holodomor was that the Kulaks were retards who decided to burn their own grain out of spite

Are we taking about the Rohingya

2019-02-05 06:01:15 UTC

@Jacob I’ll look into from that perspective.

2019-02-05 06:01:22 UTC

@VinceChaos Link evidence that Ukrainians were intentionally targeted

2019-02-05 06:01:37 UTC

Oh god

2019-02-05 06:02:37 UTC

We have access to Soviet archives, so if there was a genocide against Ukrainians, you'd think there'd be at least *one* document ordering it

2019-02-05 06:02:56 UTC

I don't even like Stalin, I just don't think bad history is something we should engage in even if it benefits us

2019-02-05 06:03:29 UTC

What being an early 21st century American is like
>read about bizarre ethnic group one day
>they suddenly start appearing all around you

It’s like some bizarre Berkeleyan Idealism where whatever ethnic group you read about last starts bleeding into reality because you read about them

2019-02-05 06:04:35 UTC

A 5th dimensional wave function collapsed from hypersubjectivity into the guy running the shell station by your house

2019-02-05 06:05:16 UTC

I’m in the middle of Alabama and the dude running the shell station by my house is Kashmiri

2019-02-05 06:05:43 UTC

The highest level of woke is realizing that literally every genocide is exaggerated.

Think about it. If you survived a war, are you going to be like, "eh, both sides did a few bad things"? Of course not, you're going to try to get as much sympathy as possible.

2019-02-05 06:08:38 UTC

I just looked up Frazier Park and apparently it's only 85% white

2019-02-05 06:09:01 UTC

and it's also 20% "Hispanic of any race"

2019-02-05 06:09:12 UTC

so it's probably more like 65% white

2019-02-05 06:20:43 UTC

dude that's really long

2019-02-05 06:20:58 UTC

can you summarize or give me a specific paragraph to look for?

2019-02-05 06:25:14 UTC

okay so I read the conclusion

2019-02-05 06:25:22 UTC

the author is basically saying what I was saying

2019-02-05 06:27:07 UTC

He says that it was largely the result of bad policies plus two bad harvests, and that it *might* be genocide if you use a broad enough interpretation of the word

2019-02-05 06:30:08 UTC

I don't disagree with his analysis that Stalin's bad policies likely made the famine worse. The only issue I have is that the author doesn't take into account that the Kulaks were burning their own grain out of spite.

2019-02-05 06:30:26 UTC

page 676

2019-02-05 06:31:42 UTC

I read the page

2019-02-05 06:32:12 UTC

doesn't say that Ukrainians were targeted

2019-02-05 06:32:28 UTC

it also says "I do not argue that Stalin wanted to annihilate the peasants"

2019-02-05 06:32:34 UTC

he deliberately starved people yes

2019-02-05 06:33:28 UTC

maybe he did, but that's not the point I'm making

2019-02-05 06:33:58 UTC

I'm not saying Stalin did nothing wrong, I'm just saying that there's no evidence there was a targeted campaign against Ukrainians

2019-02-05 06:38:30 UTC

There's plenty of reasons Stalin was bad, we don't need to make stuff up to say he was bad
