2019-02-10 06:05:40 UTC

2019-02-10 06:05:52 UTC

nah kid hasn't been born yet

2019-02-10 06:06:54 UTC

2019-02-10 06:07:33 UTC

she must be pregnant just recently

2019-02-10 06:08:17 UTC

well, I don't know how much he's comfortable with the public knowing, so I'll just leave it at that

2019-02-10 06:08:25 UTC

totally

2019-02-10 06:14:57 UTC

why is everyone suddenly having babies?

2019-02-10 06:15:38 UTC

was there an actual increase, or did everyone I know just decide to have babies at the same time?

2019-02-10 06:18:47 UTC

i just noticed the front desk receptionist at work is 8 months along bc she sits behind the desk all day and ive rarely if ever seen her not behind that desk

2019-02-10 06:20:21 UTC

I still don't understand how these polls fluctuate so much

2019-02-10 06:20:45 UTC

do people seriously change their political views every week?

2019-02-10 06:21:26 UTC

different people polled?

2019-02-10 06:21:46 UTC

that can't be it if the sample sizes are decent

2019-02-10 06:22:44 UTC

I mean ya it's different people getting polled but the samples are supposed to be representative

2019-02-10 06:24:13 UTC

I don't know. There have been quite a few things that have changed my perspective since getting involved in politics. I mean during the shut down I strongly approved of Trump. Now I actually wouldn't mind if he got impeached.

2019-02-10 06:25:03 UTC

I got an email today from a local rep. It was a poll. I deleted it without a second thought.

2019-02-10 06:29:22 UTC

These things can’t be accurate.

2019-02-10 06:29:44 UTC

@Der Seeteufel - SD I guess, but for these polls to fluctuate that much people would have to be changing their entire belief system ever week

2019-02-10 06:29:58 UTC

@Evan the ones that politicians send you aren't actually polls

2019-02-10 06:30:10 UTC

it's just an excuse to beg for money from you

2019-02-10 06:30:53 UTC

Yeah, but how’s the response any different. It’s pretty much the same format right. Maybe they’ll do a phone call instead.

2019-02-10 06:32:18 UTC

I wonder if there’s a better way to poll

2019-02-10 06:32:41 UTC

well, it's different because politicians just send out polls to people they already know support them

2019-02-10 06:33:12 UTC

actual polling companies try to get a representative sample of likely voters based on demographics or whatever

2019-02-10 06:33:30 UTC

I think that's how it works

2019-02-10 06:34:01 UTC

That may be one way

2019-02-10 06:34:52 UTC

I got this this from someone I have never heard of and from the Democratic Party.

2019-02-10 06:36:05 UTC

probably got your email from somewhere and thought you were a likely supporter for whatever reason

2019-02-10 06:36:12 UTC

They basically wanted to know if I supported the wall

2019-02-10 06:36:42 UTC

I get "polls" from Trump all the time

2019-02-10 06:37:12 UTC

It's actually all a lot faker than you think. Polls are used as much to shape opinions as they are used to determine opinions. It's classic bandwagon psychology.

2019-02-10 06:37:45 UTC

your representative probably thought you're unlikely to support the wall, sent you a poll so you could say you don't, and then be like "oh haha what a coincidence I don't either you should give me money" @Evan

2019-02-10 06:38:12 UTC

@Der Seeteufel - SD you’re probably right
