I wish Eastern Washington had more jobs. I'm gonna try to go everything I can to not go back to Western Washington for the Summer.

2019-02-18 23:09:20 UTC

2019-02-18 23:09:54 UTC

Dude

2019-02-18 23:09:54 UTC

@missliterallywho I don’t know much about economics and such but wouldn’t low population make everyone more wealthy because it would allow for a distribution of the wealth between a smaller amount of people?

2019-02-18 23:10:12 UTC

no that's not how wealth works lol

2019-02-18 23:10:28 UTC

I meant more like Sweden

2019-02-18 23:10:33 UTC

@DixieBoy76 - KY there are no jobs, that's why it's low

2019-02-18 23:10:36 UTC

there's not a finite amount of wealth per square foot

2019-02-18 23:10:54 UTC

No *good* jobs anyway

2019-02-18 23:10:55 UTC

I think what he’s trying to say is we need to

2019-02-18 23:10:56 UTC

I asked for a reason. Precisely because I wasn’t sure.

2019-02-18 23:11:01 UTC

2019-02-18 23:11:03 UTC

2019-02-18 23:11:27 UTC

2019-02-18 23:11:34 UTC

Tell em Huey!

2019-02-18 23:11:36 UTC

Real brainlet hours on my part I guess

2019-02-18 23:11:40 UTC

Sweden is only wealthy because of all the diverse migrants they brought in

2019-02-18 23:11:56 UTC

That's why people say immigrants "grow the economy". It's technically true, but they grow it by increasing the amount of people so it really doesn't make people already here much richer or poorer. @DixieBoy76 - KY

2019-02-18 23:12:05 UTC

sweden is wealthy from all the gold they plundered during the viking age

2019-02-18 23:12:18 UTC

More people generally means more wealth because people create wealth

2019-02-18 23:12:19 UTC

All those law enforcement jobs. That is why America is rich because of our amazing prison complex jobs

2019-02-18 23:12:20 UTC

Hinga Dinga Durgen

2019-02-18 23:12:25 UTC

But it doesn't mean more wealth *per capita*

2019-02-18 23:12:28 UTC

Been meaning to, Ive got T Harry Williams’ biography @Nemets

2019-02-18 23:12:54 UTC

Retards who don't understand per capita genuinely think this means immigrants make us rich

2019-02-18 23:13:40 UTC

Immigrants do generate wealth, problem is they funnel it more to the elites who employ them.

2019-02-18 23:13:57 UTC

@Nemets absolutely. Personal hero of mine (obviously)

2019-02-18 23:14:20 UTC

What about all the social services they drain tho?

2019-02-18 23:15:30 UTC

Sweden is very very resource rich. Read that in a book I'm reading. Also they weren't that well off economically until recently. Learned that from an article I read.

2019-02-18 23:15:39 UTC

Lol

2019-02-18 23:15:55 UTC

@DeusVolk Research has generally shown the increase in per capita GDP generated by immigrants to be miniscule

2019-02-18 23:16:13 UTC

Yes, you're right, most of the increase does go to the employers and the immigrants themselves

2019-02-18 23:16:33 UTC

But even if it did go to native born workers, it's such a small increase that it wouldn't really matter

2019-02-18 23:20:17 UTC

Even the increase in wages for complementary workers caused by immigrants is small enough to be offset by the fiscal drain found by adding up federal, state, and local budgets. So basically any way you twist it immigrants suck for vast majority of Americans.

2019-02-18 23:20:41 UTC

I have sources if anyone needs them btw

2019-02-18 23:21:29 UTC

Even if they were great who are we to brain drain their native countries

2019-02-18 23:24:09 UTC

Yes, that's another very good point. A lot of people think it's contradictory to say that it harms both the sending and receiving country, but it really isn't. Even skilled immigration is harmful due to the fact that it disincentivizes investment in education in the receiving country, while the sending country loses professionals that they already have a difficult time educating.
