@ophiuchus This so much. The original Reddit front page thread about Covington was about how trashy the kid was. Then, like two days later, everyone on Reddit was saying "wow, this is why we should wait for the facts to come out and not jump to conclusions". Wait for facts to come out? WTF was their to wait for? It was literally obvious in the original video that the kid was just standing there.

Lmao whitey smiled that's so horrible

2019-02-21 01:09:20 UTC

How to get IE on Pew News..... 🤔

2019-02-21 01:09:31 UTC

They just need to learn that the media lies constantly

2019-02-21 01:09:35 UTC

Is this the true power of being smug?

2019-02-21 01:09:36 UTC

To be fair, Redditors did later admit that they were wrong @NiceGuy

2019-02-21 01:09:53 UTC

But what strikes me is how the hell did they originally think they were right in the first place?

2019-02-21 01:10:11 UTC

@Jacob they dont want to be right, they want to be left

2019-02-21 01:10:12 UTC

“Did they think” there’s your problem

2019-02-21 01:10:36 UTC

@Jacob True, they were like everyone left of Ben Shapiro, either seeing it as politically advantageous or too dumb to see the truth/wait for the whole story

2019-02-21 01:10:39 UTC

Double Redditor is an insult for a reason

2019-02-21 01:10:46 UTC

@Jordan - MD They do want to be right, but they don't think deeply about it. They probably upvoted the original thread without actually watching the video.

2019-02-21 01:11:01 UTC

Bennie Israel got it wrong too

2019-02-21 01:11:21 UTC

@Jacob totally agree. I was kinda just making a lame pun tbh

2019-02-21 01:11:28 UTC

@NiceGuy But what's weird to me is there was no story to "wait for". It should have been obvious from the beginning.

2019-02-21 01:11:36 UTC

The kid was literally standing there doing nothing

2019-02-21 01:11:56 UTC

I mean, it’s not complicated or novel. If you believe something, you will ignore evidence to the contrary and everything coming it will be filtered through that lens. We do it too- it’s impossible not to. You can get better about watching yourself do it, but there are very intelligent people who believe very stupid things because if fits their reality tunnel better.

Smug posting in real life is a superpower

2019-02-21 01:12:37 UTC

@Jacob They assumed where there was no info. It wasn't clear how the group of kids and the Native came to confront each other, so people assumed the kids swarmed him, with no evidence.

2019-02-21 01:12:52 UTC

But wearing a red cap is racist! Making things great is racist! America is racist! Now gimme muh handouts

2019-02-21 01:13:05 UTC

We have a more accurate worldview and therefore are less surprised more often

2019-02-21 01:13:24 UTC

@Perihelion - CA "Smirking While White" will be a hate crime whenever the left takes over again. <:pepe:359012488920039424>

2019-02-21 01:13:33 UTC

Facecrime

Do you ever see someone with a really badly trained dog who bullies them for food? Whose fault is that really?

Again, I’m very certain there are a lot of people on the left who are more concerned with appearing intelligent and moral than being intelligent and moral. Look to the generic argument ender from that side- “wow educate yourself.” Plenty of these people have never read anything beyond and Huffpo oped but they’ll still tell you to go stick your nose in a book because they’re certain the proof is in there, they just can’t be bothered to look.

2019-02-21 01:14:33 UTC

@NiceGuy They do that a lot. I recently watched a video on NBC where a white woman was blocking a black guy from getting into his apartment complex unless he tells her his apartment number. This sounds really bad on it's face, but, if you actually think about it, she probably didn't recognize the dude, so asking his apartment number to make sure he actually lives there was a pretty reasonable question.

2019-02-21 01:14:53 UTC

according to stats, the left *is* "more educated" than the right iirc

2019-02-21 01:14:56 UTC

These people read too much into everything

2019-02-21 01:15:04 UTC

but we all know college =/= smart at this point

2019-02-21 01:15:14 UTC

At the height of the Catholic Church before the Reformation many priests had never read the Bible. The educate yourself quip is a sign of the same sort of religious Dogma

2019-02-21 01:15:17 UTC

@Asatru Artist - MD likely propaganda bud. More indoctrination is what they probably meant.

2019-02-21 01:15:36 UTC

With the collapse of identity, people have fallen into weird political existentialism to give their lives meaning. Politics isn’t real opinion for a lot of people, politics is an identifier.

2019-02-21 01:16:18 UTC

@Asatru Artist - MD I think it's true that liberals have a higher average IQ than conservatives, but it's not as damaging as it sounds. Higher IQ people are more likely to go to college, and liberals are more likely to pursue jobs in education. So, logically, it makes sense that high IQ people will tend to end up liberal.

2019-02-21 01:16:46 UTC

That's actually not true. The higher IQ myth comes from studies that only survey college students. In the general populace conservatives have a higher IQ

2019-02-21 01:17:19 UTC

I would honestly be surprised if higher IQ people *weren't* more likely to be liberal at a time when liberals dominate the institutions

2019-02-21 01:17:20 UTC

i was just saying "more educated" meaning more went to/graduated college. That's why I said they aren't necessarily "smarter", because college is quite the joke these days.

2019-02-21 01:17:36 UTC

plus if everyone has a college degree, no one really does.

2019-02-21 01:17:51 UTC

We’ll see more smart people skip college soon
