I had a subcon boss who baffled me. Good at his job. Verbally articulate. Absolutely could not learn anything new I showed him. I don't understand how that was possible.

it's like he operated off a very rigid set things he knew how to do and couldn't incorporate new information without it being in some official template

very weird to work with because he wasn't bad at his job

There is nothing more frustrating than having subcons talk to you that are theoretically proficient in English but have such a heavy accent that they are unintelligible.

Practically they were unable to communicate in English unless they were talking to another subcon with their weird version of English.
