I'd say the distinction does matter. Someone being misled on political issues doesn't really impact my ability to have friendly relations with them. Someone being outright malicious is a different story.

@Perihelion - CA Hmmm that's a difficult question. I'm inclined to say that it's not worth bothering trying to convert non-whites, but, then again, I have friends who have personal barrier that I try to convert. Though my friends' personal barriers aren't as bad.
