I never knew someone could be so dumb

2019-08-03 01:34:04 UTC

They don't he's usign a source code that asserts light bends down in air.
I have photographs of reality that shows light bends up in air.
He uses his model to say flat earth isn't real because the model doesn't match observations

2019-08-03 01:34:16 UTC

When if you show light curving up, it matches reality perfectly

2019-08-03 01:34:37 UTC

What are these photos that show light bending up

2019-08-03 01:34:57 UTC

I just wanna know what it looks like cause like

2019-08-03 01:34:58 UTC

?

2019-08-03 01:35:53 UTC

Do you mean like a beam of light shone through air actually bends *upward*

2019-08-03 01:35:57 UTC

But I wasn't using bislins model to prove whether the earth is round or not? Im interested in Astrophysics as a profession.

2019-08-03 01:36:11 UTC

Astrophysics is hella interesting

2019-08-03 01:36:34 UTC

Takes a lot of work but super interesting

2019-08-03 01:37:37 UTC

Also hey while I’m here I’ve always wondered something about flat earthers but never had the chance to ask

2019-08-03 01:37:49 UTC

WHAT IF ... WHAT IF .... walter bislins is a flat earther that doesnt wanna telll any one

2019-08-03 01:38:20 UTC

But I'm not talking about Walter bislins

2019-08-03 01:38:34 UTC

Even if earth is flat or round or whatever else you wanna believe, why does it matter?

2019-08-03 01:39:01 UTC

so you dont get lost in space

2019-08-03 01:39:01 UTC

Like we are all very obviously alive here and not directly affected by the shape of the planet we live on

2019-08-03 01:39:32 UTC

Now who in 2019 aside from top level well trained professionals will be going to space

2019-08-03 01:39:43 UTC

waste your life thinking about the stars and leaving the planet and ther is no god and other stupid crap that never helps you do the right thing

2019-08-03 01:39:57 UTC

I’m just legitimately curious about why it matters to you and me

2019-08-03 01:40:04 UTC

Common folks like us

2019-08-03 01:40:10 UTC

?_? i just told yoiu

2019-08-03 01:40:27 UTC

do i have to RIGHT a essay that you wont read

2019-08-03 01:40:34 UTC

Write*

2019-08-03 01:40:37 UTC

I mean no other animal on the planet thinks about much of anything complex much less the shape of the planet

2019-08-03 01:40:42 UTC

And they get on just fine

2019-08-03 01:40:58 UTC

What does the shape of the planet have to do with “doing the right thing” though

2019-08-03 01:41:13 UTC

I’m not trying to pester you, I’m just really curious

2019-08-03 01:41:29 UTC

And yes I do want to see the essay. It'll be pretty interesting. Please define a proper thesis and restate it in the concluding paragraph.

2019-08-03 01:41:56 UTC

😄 well ill get back to you on it

2019-08-03 01:42:07 UTC

Wait really?

2019-08-03 01:42:15 UTC

Awesome. Send me a DM of it when you're done

2019-08-03 01:42:29 UTC

I understand that general beliefs are fundamental parts that make up morals and all that but what does the shape of the planet have to do with that

2019-08-03 01:43:13 UTC

The only time it ever even comes to mind is if I have some spare time and am just thinking about random stuff for the hell of it

2019-08-03 01:43:25 UTC

I just asked a question about applying to NASA tho :c

2019-08-03 01:43:42 UTC

it has never factored into any part of my morals or major decision making

2019-08-03 01:44:44 UTC

I could attack the flat earth model and the logic of it all but why do that when the concept of arguing over it doesn’t really add up in the first place

2019-08-03 01:46:01 UTC

I know humans are competitive creatures by nature and will look for conflict where it may not even exist, but I feel like surely there could be a more fulfilling or logical conflict than arguing over the shape of the planet

2019-08-03 01:46:52 UTC

I guess as humans we are curious beings and with that we need to excercise thoughts that may pop in our heads.

2019-08-03 01:47:38 UTC

The cost of being intelligent is to become curious. Being intelligent separates us from humans and animals.

2019-08-03 01:47:43 UTC

Well then let’s argue over the shape of the planet when space travel is widely available

2019-08-03 01:48:59 UTC

I know curiosity and deep thought are grand concepts that have launched humanity eons ahead of other species
