I know a lot about Discord. I can help you guys
*cough* echo chamber
I'm a libertarian, piecefull, non harming freedom
And JP - let me surprise you. I’m a theist 😎
God is not the problem.
Everytime god comes up here, it’s cut off without exploration, so... *cough* echo chamber
Because growing apples are hard
Nope . You get to speak it , a LOOoOoT actually... so no echo chamber.
so is most thing thats worth while
Like I said earlier, the world is better because if people like Elon musk
Im gonna focus on this discussion right now. It’s a good one. Would encourage everyone including JP to join and give their views.
I personally thinks that resources for smart people is in everyones best interest
I can’t actually give my view if it involves God though
@Malachi that sounds like a more sophisticated version of ‘if society didn’t buy your product, you wouldn’t be rich’
The counter is ‘ then why didn’t you choose to sell whatever I’m selling... clearly there is something unique about this that only I can bring to the table’
Ideas are not worth shit!
JP - I think we’ve heard it multiple times, read it multiple times. In fact most of the time this is the topic you talk about. If you still don’t feel like you’ve been given due time - I can even get behind that while disagreeing, but you just start calling people names. Not just in a burst of emotion on the chat - which is also wrong- but even in your written speech where one has more time think beffore pressing enter. How much more ‘understanding’ do you want before moving from your position a bit?
so true
The issue with the God / Skepticism dilemma is that one allows for the other, but not the other way around. Usually when that happens, the "one that allows for the other" is "too loose" or "too slippery" and I get that's how "God" is seen by the skeptic, but ironically, there is much more "slipperiness" in the skeptic position than in the God one (especially when it comes to morality) -- yet Skepticism doesn't allow for God.
God and sketpicism ought not be at odds. Instead, it's about scope.
God is the largest scope and skepticism captures a small part of what's God's.
But the skeptic doesn't see that. The skeptic sees only what he can observe and measure up close, and doesn't care that ALL of that is made possible by that which he cannot observe and measure.
As a Christian, however, I think skepticism is awesome... for a certain *category* of truths.
@Malachi The taxes collected are way more than the taxes he paid...
So, in this chat, we can never quite explore God because the skepticism whirlpool of a blackhole makes sure we can't.
We should have "God" days. Maybe Sundays?
No
Conversations frequently go there.
I won't ration God
Yes, and conversations ALWAYS go to skepticism
You know JP - how you say and said to Travis today ‘ I understand because I used to think the way you are now’ (to that effect) .... I used to think like that (to your last message) so please understand you are not presenting a completely unique viewpoint and we understand what you’re saying.
That's this server
Well sometimes we get tires of your tirades and your accusations of tirades
Right, my point exactly.
But we also have daily topics
And since God comes up so regularly we could give it a day every week
@Captain_Rogers amen
Yes, and those topics, to Pang, all exist on top of skepticism. To the Christians, God.
Anyway, gotta run. Christian folk and people who don't laugh and shut down when God is mentioned, add me.
🤣
So this is not church - agreed.
It's the church of skepticism apparently.
You go for 6 minutes at a time
