That is worth debating. Wow.
Supposedly he plans to donate like 40 billion to the Gates foundation
the generalization is wealth accumulation and the point of that
There’s a real estate Mogul with a garage of cars worth $30,000,000
I’m like...ok?
enter arguments of materialism, psychological egoism etc
You could argue for wealth accumumlation and ego also . You could argue both ways, but it depends on which argument you like more and accept 🙂
Is hard to argue in such way NOT TO turn your partner into an enemy..
I guess what I mean is...is there a point to owning 30,000,000 worth of cars?
when the same wealth could have been used to help people and animals in dire need? 🤷🏻♂️
excuse my idealism but I am partial to Plato lol
the effect on the masses is to want the same thing...they focus on money and accumulation of wealth and then wonder why their lives lack fulfillment
I was just on YouTube. Saw an ad for a documentary called Betting on Zero where a billionaire tries to short HerbalLife stock in order to expose that it’s a pyramid scheme that preys on the working class and savings
I had a friend do some type of MLM...it’s amazing how much in denial he was in despite the fact that he lost money and never made any money

@Yussuki ₪ I embrace disagreement since it leads to an opportunity to reconcile differences and reach a more generalizable view
I perfectly agree 🥨
cool but what are your thoughts?
I totally agree with you I dont know what more to add.
We've had a lot of cases like this in my country where ppl lost their homes to ponzi schemes and MLM.
In my opinion, the fundamental layer that cascades to the surface amplifying and creating exponentially more problems in society is greed.
This is so insanely cool. It's a visualization of philosophers and their influence.
How do we feel about weak vs strong differentiated citizenship in the USA? Do our overseas friends have anything like this?
What is that?
Something I'm studying in my political philosophy class. It's the concept that different groups of citizens have different rights. In theory all citizens should have equal rights, but some groups maintain special rights.
Like?
I condemn that
Are there time when it may be useful?
I don’t even know what you’re talking about to be able to comment. I asked above what type of special rights for what type of people are you referring to?
So the obvious example is Native Americans. they don't pay many federal taxes, and they have special access to educational benefits.
It’s not so obvious to people who are maybe not from the USA. I thought they were only given lands and could grow weed and play cards on them.
Where are you from?
Is affirmative action also an example?
I cannot say for personal security reasons. Sorry.
Affirmative action is an example. Though I think it has been walked back in the usa
How about any quotas based on geographic location, skin color, religions, language, ethnicity etc etc
Or whether naturalized citizens can become the president ?
ooh, the prsident one is a great question
Yea - I often think about these things as separate issues
I guess we do have separate types of citizenship.
