If only that's all it were.

I don't recall ever in my lifetime seeing a major office candidate use a televised debate as effectively as Trump did last night.... to drive his own former supporters to the opposition. Except for a small core of nutcases, too devout to be bothered by massive, ongoing utter lies.

Of a 14 person CNN live focus group, 6 claimed the debate pushed them to firm up candidate choices, 4 Biden, 2 Trump. 8 acted like they wish NOTA were an option, while CNN didn't ask about JoJo (the Libertarian on the ballot in all 50 states as usual), the Green (who technically could win, but isn't as well backed), or others not adequately ballot qualified to even try for 270 Electoral votes.

Though JoJo beat him as this year's party banner topper, and the long standing tradition to nominate but not select NOTA was repeated, Vermin Supreme expanded his pony for every boy platform to girls too, and did get a Presidential nomination. His former sidekick Spike Cohen is JoJo's Veep.

It's embarrassing to call these "debates." Lying so blatantly would get you laughed off stage in an actual debate.

If you think you saw your claimed quote used by CNN staff, your grasp of honest facts matches Trump's perfectly.

I'm surprised to see anyone here who failed to recognize Trump's performance as other than that of a nutcase deserving to be shut down. Unlike some, you can't attribute that to my being a Biden supporter, as he's done enough dirty dealings that he belongs out of office and in prison, at the least, but that's a major Beltway illness.

The pattern with Trump is that he plays the game that is *actually* being played, not the one everyone is intending to play.

For instance:

- Popular Vote vs. Electoral Vote -- why is Hillary still bragging about winning the wrong game?

- 2016 Debate vs. 2016 Insult competition -- They were all low key insulting each other. Trump came in with the hammer and did it better

- 2020 Debate vs. 2020 Penis Measuring Competition -- Trump was the alpha. Biden was like the kid who thought he should be the captain of the gym dodgeball team, but nobody would let him.

Other contenders: North Korea, China, etc. I don't know what the games ACTUALLY are or what they appear to be, but Trump isn't playing them like we used to, and is getting great results.

Too bad China had to give us the virus :/

I think Trump could have done a lot better in that debate, but he definitely won it. Biden lied, apologized and looked overall very weak and annoyed.

@Lemele This is a server that engages in the war of ideas. The only rule here is - Repeated bad-faith argumentation will not be tolerated. Attacking the person instead of the argument, unable to acknowledge fallaciousness etc. This is a great place to test your skeptical foundation and refine it.
