Something you can only get if you have worked over a certain number of hours
I think if cities want that sort of thing they need to be willing to pay it themselves. So if a city wants Welfare, they need to pay it out of their own budget.
That would give people a measure for how unsustainable it is.
I'm personally in favor of giving the taxpayers more control over how their money is allocated. That way, they'd have to sell the idea to us.
mfw @Milk is forced to accept handouts via pandhandling when whatever job he has becomes automated <:HyperLmao:459545665517780993>
@Milk while I technically agree, I believe that is less likely to happen once we move to private charity
I'm not going to comment
I hate debates about automation
why because it's a real issue
It isn't
go away
Lol
You sound like a conspiracy theorist
and not this penny ante shit about social programs?
Automation debate is fearmongering
Automation will be an issue within a few decades.
Automation debate is not only real, it's happened in the past
It was an issue when car manufacturers started it.
"AI is going to..." *puts on tin foil hat* "replace all the jobs man"
Thousands of jobs lost to machines.
fearmongering
A huge portion of the labour pool
Gone.
more like genuine foreboading
Thousands of new jobs open up in new industries
Not all jobs, but jobs for people who have not yet been able to get an education.
No
i said I hate these debTes
go back to welfare
People do get education though
Teenagers, and young adults who reply on those jobs to pay tuition.
Etc.
abolish the DoEd
This is off topic though.
so I suppose people more educated and intelligent than you are by a long shot worrying about automation putting millions of people out of work are just crazy conspiracy nuts
This idea that workers can't increase their work potential and can't educate themselves is just factually untrue and very insulting to workers. This is an elitist taking point
We should stop this now.
I wonder what it would look like if all schools were private/charity-funded.
And move to chat, or serious topic.
lol I like where this is headed tbh
