I mean both are important and it depends which way you take the social programs? Are they simly handouts or actual employment? Even if it i govorment employmant to let you scrape by. A military is obvious but this is something I cant asnwer definitively one way or the other

Also it depends on what jbs ai is going to take, how many, how fast? Automation is a complex issue that if it does happen fast and takes up huge amounts of workspots and removes humans entirely you are looking at a societal and demographic catastrophy that will literally destabilize the nation

and generally speaking most work will simply move around the idea of AI, maintnence etc. yada yada, the work will simply change. However it has to take several generations as to offset the losses.
