in Canada the federal government does all the work since the local government are poor af, meaning that the government gives attention to all parts and basically cannot neglect parts of the country

the federal government spends as much title 1 money on rich schools as poor schools

but the governing bodies are smaller

I have a mixed view on the issue

Although I lean towards centralized a government is inherently limited in scope of what it itself can efficiently administrate and hence a larger state can not be fully centralized without suffering major drawbacks and hence it has to be somewhat decentralized to more local authorities to accommodate
