The issue I think most people have is that the definition of abusing alcohol varies so radically that for one person drinking every other day is abuse, for the other drinking 4 times a day is abuse.

Generally alcohol should be ritualistic in that its only on the table and is being drunk for a veyr specific reason. You meet with someone so you drink a beer to demonstrate trust towards each other. You have a big family gathering and each takes a shot to show trust between each other. The biggest issue is when you start drinking alone, and for no reason. Thats the moment it becomes abuse or when you start looking for excuses to have that ritual daily. Generally drinking veyr little, once a week would not be abuse, medically and i guess morally. But when you start tipping that point of once a week and heading into twice, or simply drinking just because. Or generally have the idea of getting shitfaced whenever you go to drink you are entering a revolving door of degeneracy.
