You can't have democracy and diversity

2018-08-08 02:01:35 UTC

these primaries are fucked

2018-08-08 02:10:00 UTC

I don't know why you can't have democracy and diversity.

2018-08-08 02:10:22 UTC

Different demographics have different interests. Just because demographics support interests different from yours doesn't mean democracy doesn't work. That's just fucking braindead.

2018-08-08 02:10:32 UTC

Blacks are poorer, they want Democrats to support public programs that help them.

2018-08-08 02:10:38 UTC

Not hard to grasp.

2018-08-08 02:10:52 UTC

Democrats dont support programs that help blacks

2018-08-08 02:11:02 UTC

I agree, subjective as that is.

2018-08-08 02:11:10 UTC

The Great Society hurt blacks more than it helped them.

2018-08-08 02:11:12 UTC

I'm pretty sure democrats have been fucking black people over for a while

2018-08-08 02:11:25 UTC

Democrat controlled regions have lower standard of livings than republican-controlled black regions

2018-08-08 02:11:31 UTC

intentionally and unintentionally

2018-08-08 02:11:43 UTC

Yeah, but none of these are arguments against diversity in a democracy.

2018-08-08 02:11:49 UTC

Its intentional for the most part @Deleted User

2018-08-08 02:12:00 UTC

They just do the bare min to get their vote

2018-08-08 02:12:20 UTC

what define a 'democracy'

2018-08-08 02:12:33 UTC

The shameless and toxic pandering to minorities isn't a good thing. Wouldn't not happen if an authoritarian government wanted to secure a demographic vote. FDR made a deal with Southern Democrats not to include blacks in many New Deal programs to get their support.

2018-08-08 02:12:34 UTC

because in the US we only democratically elect people

2018-08-08 02:12:49 UTC

FDR definitely led an authoritarian government.

2018-08-08 02:13:36 UTC

America is a democracy. A republic is still a democracy.

2018-08-08 02:13:49 UTC

America is not a democracy lmao

2018-08-08 02:13:50 UTC

that's not what I asked

2018-08-08 02:13:59 UTC

Its a constitutional republic

2018-08-08 02:14:03 UTC

Well we're talking about America, so I'm pointing to American democracy.

2018-08-08 02:14:25 UTC

We democratically elect people

2018-08-08 02:14:25 UTC

<:HyperLmao:459545665517780993> >america is a democracy

2018-08-08 02:14:26 UTC

that's it

2018-08-08 02:14:35 UTC

And yes America absolutely is a democracy. Why is it not a democracy? Representative democracy makes a republic a republic. Did you ever stop for more than two seconds and wonder why it's called representative "democracy"?

2018-08-08 02:14:38 UTC

Or did that just slip your mind?

2018-08-08 02:14:48 UTC

what define a 'democracy'

2018-08-08 02:14:55 UTC

''a democracy''

2018-08-08 02:15:01 UTC

Rule by the people, etymologically speaking.

2018-08-08 02:15:04 UTC

Demos, kratos.

2018-08-08 02:16:00 UTC

america is ruled by [all] the people because we elect representatives?

2018-08-08 02:16:02 UTC

Legally speaking America is a democracy even if it's been so heavily bureaucratized since FDR that the people increasingly have less power over the affairs of the state.

2018-08-08 02:16:29 UTC

It doesn't suddenly stop being a democracy as soon as government isn't as small and direct as you want it to be. Sorry, that's not how the world works.

2018-08-08 02:16:40 UTC

We still elect people, federally and locally.

2018-08-08 02:16:54 UTC

Those people decide domestic and foreign policy.

2018-08-08 02:16:59 UTC

''It doesn't suddenly stop being a democracy as soon as government isn't as small and direct as you want it to be. Sorry, that's not how the world works.'' I never implied that

2018-08-08 02:17:01 UTC

When they don't do what we want as voters we don't reelect them.

2018-08-08 02:17:07 UTC

Sounds like democracy to me.
