Man I’d hope people would be able to do that work to their BCGs lol

2020-05-04 23:44:33 UTC

But then I’m sure there are some that can’t

2020-05-04 23:57:22 UTC

Staking and replacing gas keys isn’t the easiest thing for most.

2020-05-05 00:52:10 UTC

just buy new BCGs

2020-05-05 01:03:29 UTC

🤦

2020-05-05 01:04:13 UTC

Gotta know how to maintain your weapons before you can even really say you can use it to its ability.

2020-05-05 01:19:11 UTC

Even if that means sending it off, maintenance is maintenance

2020-05-05 01:38:51 UTC

@[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ look into Pennsylvania gunsmith school that’s the one I went to. There are a few others in the country also.

2020-05-05 01:54:36 UTC

I don’t need a gunsmithing license to replace a few parts on a BCG.

2020-05-05 02:12:23 UTC

You don't need a gunsmithing license to do anything... Even when you go to a school for you, you get a certificate of completion of the course to show you've taken initiative to potentially start a career or side gig as a gunsmith....

2020-05-05 02:13:01 UTC

Hence why his remark was funny

2020-05-05 02:14:08 UTC

That said... Thought on reliability of 80% lowers? I have a polymer lower from james madison tactical and it seems stout; Though I was planning on only using it as a .22

2020-05-05 02:14:52 UTC

Plan on building out some others pretty soon here, once I get a mini-mill because even the polymer was a bitch with just a cheapo drill press.

2020-05-05 02:17:33 UTC

80% are fine just don’t fuck it up and yeah use the polymer for .22 and practice I wouldn’t want to use one in a life or death scenario I have seen too many bushmaster polymers split in half

2020-05-05 02:18:57 UTC

Might try my hand at a polymer 80 glock as well; just so I can say I have a glock... Maybe then people will quit crying that my carry weapon is a makarov. #poorlife

2020-05-05 02:20:30 UTC

80% receivers are perfectly fine if you do it right. Polymer lowers can be half decent if reinforced at common failure points, such as the buffer tube threads.

2020-05-05 02:20:37 UTC

🤣🤣 no don’t get me wrong I will shoot Glocks all day but polymer ar no thank you

2020-05-05 02:20:42 UTC

But most polymer lowers are not reinforced.

2020-05-05 02:23:39 UTC

Most new polymer lowers are very heavily reinforced, either with copper inserts or just a lot of extra material. As long as your rifle isn't absurdly over gassed I'm sure it'd be fine. The MAIN reason I'm going to build this one as a .22 is so both of my daughters can shoot a .22 AR style rifle at the same time and be able to learn manual of arms on a lighter rifle until they are confident with them to move to .223

2020-05-05 02:25:58 UTC

@Soulraiser I have my girls on .22 cricket and they love it. I plan on upgrading them when they get a couple years older.

Need goon kits for 1 medium male, 5'10 175lbs

2020-05-05 03:29:27 UTC

1 male 6'4" 350lbs

2020-05-05 03:29:39 UTC

Ca shipped

2020-05-05 03:42:08 UTC

Do not trust polymer lowers, period. Even reinforced ones. ARs that is, on pistols they work fine.

2020-05-05 03:42:31 UTC

You can't trust a poly lower to hand the twisting of the weapon's cycling and abuse of field use.

2020-05-05 04:31:06 UTC

@P. goon kits?

2020-05-05 04:33:23 UTC

@Sparrow Personal experience or...?

2020-05-05 04:34:02 UTC

Friends who have used them. I never bought one myself. But literally everyone I've ever talked to said get a metal one.

2020-05-05 04:35:19 UTC

Fair enough

2020-05-05 13:03:38 UTC

WTB plate carrier with plates. If someone has an extra lmk. Lead times online are unreal right now. Armslist doesn’t look promising.

2020-05-05 16:19:52 UTC

@GRANITE check out shellback tactical

2020-05-05 16:20:57 UTC

Yea they have a long ass wait time too @Bender

2020-05-05 16:22:34 UTC

damn

2020-05-05 16:23:38 UTC

One sec @Bender

2020-05-05 16:23:48 UTC

Going to show you what I’m thinking I’m going to get

2020-05-05 16:25:08 UTC

Decent price? Idk shit bout gear really. I can build an ar ground up but haven’t gotten into gear

2020-05-05 16:26:37 UTC

you need a back plate so tack an extra $200ish on that price

2020-05-05 16:36:38 UTC

That has both plates. The plates are good. Carrier is airsoft grade, and it all seems a tad overpriced

2020-05-05 16:39:18 UTC

How much should I offer him
