For civilians, we typically don't have "missions," just reacting in self defense. If you have a mission, you can tailor your kit to it before it starts. Otherwise it's best to look like a normal dude with a concealed holster

2020-04-30 18:16:25 UTC

You can switch out depending on mission setting.

2020-04-30 18:17:31 UTC

There’s always a “mission”. If you don’t have one, it’s only because you’ve failed to define it.

2020-04-30 18:18:08 UTC

I think we have different definitions of mission then

2020-04-30 18:18:25 UTC

My mission depends on how this kicks off in my area.

2020-04-30 18:18:36 UTC

Hence, two sets and mindsets.

2020-04-30 18:19:17 UTC

In which case, figure out what will most likely happen and plan around that. My number one scenario involves grabbing the fire extinguisher off of my wall.

2020-04-30 18:20:50 UTC

Interesting, you can on getting Waco'ed?

2020-04-30 18:21:50 UTC

No, I'm prepared in case one of my electrical outlets sparks and starts a fire or something, because it's statistically much more likely than having my house broken into.

2020-04-30 18:22:13 UTC

Hahaha

2020-04-30 18:22:19 UTC

Okay yes but literally entirely irrelevant to this discussion, congrats

2020-04-30 18:23:22 UTC

No it's relevant. Determine emergency scenarios in order of likelihood and plan for them. Whether it's a fire, flood, or burglar.

2020-04-30 18:27:13 UTC

If I hear glass break, I'm not grabbing the first aid kit, I'm grabbing the home defense kit.
There's a kit and plan for fire
One for defense
One for bugging out
One for bugging in
Stuff depending on where I'm going

2020-04-30 18:27:22 UTC

Could not be more relevant

2020-04-30 18:28:12 UTC

The kit I shared a glimpse of is a raid kit. Short, going somewhere to do something specific type kit. It's not where I want it yet, but if it came down to it, I could make it work.

2020-04-30 18:34:20 UTC

I'd probably say kits in order of importance, there may be more
First aid
Natural disaster / fire
EDC (concealed carry, tq, knife or shears, etc.)
Common home defense
Get home kit
Bug out kit (you're probably not defending your home from the feds for very long, they won't stop until you're dead)
Mission specific stuff that we do not talk about in this server.

2020-04-30 18:36:44 UTC

If you're like most people, your mission, as Varg Freeborn would put it, is to get home alive to your loving family. If something matters more than that, then you know exactly why it matters more than that.

2020-04-30 19:26:31 UTC

Now that I'm living in the country "bugging out" over a disaster is less likely we are shifting to a bug in/prepper mindset now. I have plate carriers for my wife and I and in between them is a shoulder bag with 300 rounds of softpoint 5.56 once we get completely done with this move and our chicken gardening projects I can focus one what role I can make our former bugout bags serve

2020-04-30 19:35:04 UTC

Sounds like you've got your equipment more or less sorted away. More ammo and preserved food is always good. Might be good to start looking at fortifying your house. Feds like to toss stuff through your windows like flashbangs but they make vandal resistant windows. Stuff like installing better screws in your entry doors and other things to keep them from being bashed down. Motion detecting outdoor lights. Wireless security system like simplisafe

2020-04-30 19:35:55 UTC

applies to vagrants and mad max crazies as well

2020-04-30 19:40:27 UTC

My house is brick on a concrete slab I'm going to replace my door sunday I always reinforce the frames and run 3 inch deck screws all around the frame did that for my gun room. Cameras with motion lights are also on my
list. I've had ADT for years planning on having it moved to my new place

2020-04-30 19:41:14 UTC

I've been buying/loading/building guns and ammo for a decade I'm in decent shape on ammo we have emergency food but wee need more

2020-04-30 19:41:22 UTC

Nice

2020-04-30 19:41:40 UTC

You're in much better shape than I am then lol, granted I'm just starting my career

2020-04-30 19:43:24 UTC

I'm at the apex of my career been working on the same contract for a decade finally got to use my tech diploma and I have one of the highest paying jobs on the contract

2020-04-30 19:43:56 UTC

Awesome. I'm right at entry level IT, but things are looking up

2020-04-30 20:29:42 UTC

Watching 9 hole reviews put the type 56 sks through the service rifle course and its not doing well the Chinese AK actually shot better not surprising as tilting block rifles don't have as consistent of lockup as a rotating bolt

2020-04-30 20:53:07 UTC

Shotgun or rifle for black bear defense?

2020-04-30 20:53:36 UTC

Any of you fuckers know of any good deals on a red dot? Trying to find a holographic or prism sight because my eyes kinda suck. Trying to keep right at or under 400$

2020-04-30 20:54:26 UTC

Im using a strike eagle now and am disappointed with the glass quality and can not understand why it gets such good reviews

2020-04-30 20:54:44 UTC

You could get a little Bushnell or something for like 100. And really? I love my Strike Eagle

2020-04-30 20:54:55 UTC

Mine is nice and clear

2020-04-30 20:55:00 UTC

My 120$ crossfire 2-7 had better glass

2020-04-30 20:55:17 UTC

Like much better.

2020-04-30 20:55:24 UTC

Well, my next recce optic is gonna be the Primary Arms 1-6 or 1-8 in ACSS

2020-04-30 20:56:09 UTC

I wanna learn to make my own iron sights n scopes,

2020-04-30 20:56:39 UTC

Im not liking the lvpos at all

2020-04-30 20:57:25 UTC

I used iorn sights for 10+ years and have been debating on going back to them.

2020-04-30 20:58:42 UTC

Nah, screw that. I get people that like them, and I can use them. But I like optics as a force multiplier.

2020-04-30 21:02:16 UTC

It’s about playing around and finding what you like

2020-04-30 21:02:34 UTC

I like my eotech over my Red dot MRO
